Match Thread Coventry City at Oxford United Match Thread - Tuesday 14th Aug

[pipkin73]

Had to smile at odds on SBT for Bakayoko first goalscorer 8/2 !!! (used to be 4/1 where I grew up) Also, looks like Otis will be able to buy SISU if Tom Davies is first goalscorer (if it's someone else who has bet on him, they are trying to catch Otis in a hurry !!)

Lol, it's Nick trying to catch Otis.

[fatso]

I'd be happy to see Ponticelli given a run out in a front 2, partnering any 1 of the 3 useless goal shy carthorses we now have draining our resources in return for fuck all.

Are cup games usually on ifollow?

[Cranfield Sky Blue]

Fuck it I'm going

That’s what I thought about the same time! I just arrived. Fucking away ticket office doesn’t open till 6.45!

No you’ll have to make do with Geoff attempting to describe the action tonight

[You'll Never Beat McPake]

Just heading out now. Hope M40 and A34 are quiet

[SlowerThanPlatt]

Anyone know what’s happened with Andy Turner? Just looking at the Cov Tel blog for tonight and there’s a guy called Joseph Chapman doing the live coverage instead and he was doing it on Saturday too. Turner hasn’t tweeted anything since the ‘horror show’ headline after the Scunthorpe game or published any articles

And he scores!!! Thats fulltime and That's Coventry 2nd goaless draw in a row.

[Dimi_Konstantflapalot]

Looks like a 3-5-2 lineup tonight

[Earlsdon_Skyblue1]

Just found out I'm working in Oxford tomorrow as well.

Shame it wasn't three hours ago.

[Nick]

Must be Grimmer centre half on the right

[larry_david]

Not as many changes as I'd like.

Yep. Bayliss in the middle with Ogogo, Max flanked by Hiwula and Bakayoko. Excited to hear how it fares

[SlowerThanPlatt]

Who are the midfield 3 if it’s a 4-3-3? Bayliss, Ogogo and..Sterling?

TEAM NEWS: Sky Blues Make Three Changes To Face Oxford United

So I think

Sterling - Bayliss - Ogogo - Hiwula

Biamou - Bakayoko

Interesting - I still think its 3-5-2. If we're to play 4-4-2, surely Shipley on the left would have been the more natural fit?

[Nantwich Skyblues]

8 changes for Oxford, not taking it as seriously as us perhaps?

[CIBedworth]

Anywhere I can watch or listen online?

[SlowerThanPlatt]

Oxford have Marcus Browne from West Ham playing the one who was linked to us last season.

Think he’s Jodi Jones’ best mate

League Cup (or whatever it’s called now) games now go straight to pens in event of a draw after 90 minutes

Can’t say I’m bothered about the League Cup whatsoever, I can see it being scrapped completely soon and following Spain, Germany, Italy etc. in having one cup competition

As if that's progress. Another competition emasculated by the Sky money.

[fernandopartridge]

Not as many changes as I'd like.

Why? The team are learning to play together and get up to match sharpness, makes no sense to make wholesale changes imo

[fatso]

I'm going for a city win on pens after a 0-0 bore draw.

[Sbarcher]

I’m going for 2 x steak pies. Bloody lovely!

[covcity4life]

442 with sterling right wing. Could work

451 is fine when andreu in team

Plus the cash of drawing a big club would be welcome.

Thought I read that he was going to be away (can't remember if it was holiday) and this guy was covering until he came back.

[SlowerThanPlatt]

Bayliss on set pieces, interesting

dam it ive him down score first would won a small fortune on the forum bets lol

[Hobo]

We need some continuity to settle the squad.

He could stick a free kick in to the top corner of the net?

[Ashdown]

Got to be honest, with that team, if we get smashed now, I'll be a bit concerned.
