Been laid up in bed near enough all week, first day out and about today and hoping a trip to Mansfield is just the tonic.

Not overly confident of a win but you never know with ccfc. Mansfield are impressive at home and have a good side with Danny Rose a real handful with Alex Mcdonald and Kane Hemmeings.

Hopefully JCH puts in a big performance today with the rest and we get some momentum going.

Robins said the other night that Mansfields game is on chasing and working hard but believed if we match them for effort then we have better players.

Need Doyler back though as we're too nice.

Back to winning ways today, 2-0 to City. Would be delighted with that and a draw on Tuesday.

0-5 victory and the start of a fantastic finish to the season, finishing runners-up.

I like your confidence. Pompey went on a similar run this time last year...

Be interesting to see how Shipley and Bayliss do as wide men

A team not to lose rather than a team to win. A draw would be an ok result but we really need to start getting 3 points away from home.

I would expect so, although with Robins mentioning a diamond the other week it may not be. I’d actually like to see a diamond midfield out of them 4.

Glad to see Doyle back, never thought I'd have said that 10 years ago

Not sure what your 'team to win' selection would have been?
Argument for Reid on the pitch, perhaps - but that's about the only thing I might have considered.

I'd have probably put Reid on the left to bring some pace and directness.

Has it all been amiable in Mansfield's drinking haunts?

Yes - I might have put him on - maybe MR wants more of the work ethic that Shipley tends to give - will probably switch things later in the game (hopefully not in the 88th minute when we're losing!'

I thought that Reid would start. He would cause some problems for Mansfield.

No idea today.

Going to plump for a 2-2 and us for once getting a late equaliser.

McDonald and Ponticelli late on from the bench.

Yes I would have included Reid.
I might have considered biamou and JCH up front with mcnulty just behind...perhaps that more for a home game.
I do think Baylis wasted out wide. He is more dangerous driving through the middle

Two defensive midfielders, no natural width, and no pace, its grounhog day all over again.
The definition of insanity is doing the same old thing over and over, and expecting different results.
Expect to see the front two starved of service, and our midfield pushed back until they sit on our penalty area.
Then MR to make a change in the 85 minute to try and salvage something from a game that was over before it kicked off.

Minutes silence held pre kick off. Shame the city fans who stayed outside didn’t observe it though!

Haynes puts a ball in looking for JCh I think it was, their defender clears for a corner.

Do you think that MR will try to salvage something as early as the 85th minute?

Mcdonald header from a corner saved

Corner drilled along the floor, I think it was JCH hit it off their defender for a corner. Some claims for handball but not much.

Then McDonald header saved, another corner us.

Looking promising.
