Corona deaths at lowest for 7 weeks & hospital fatalities now BELOW average

Good news, coming right down

Is that article right? The ONS report 12,288 deaths in England and Wales for week 21. The 5 year average is 9,940.

Think they're just comparing non-covid19 deaths which are down 2.4% below the 5 year average this week but that's not usual. Before we recorded our first covid19 death we'd only had 2 weeks so far this year where the rate was above the average.

Grandkid's school are not opening to non key-workers either. They will try and have a special day apparently for the year 6 leavers to say goodbye.

So the Chief Medical Officer vetoed going from Level 4 to Level 3, yet the government went ahead and eased lockdown anyway.

So much for being led by the science. Only when it suits them.

The news came as Downing Street announced it was winding down its programme of daily coronavirus press conferences from daily to five a week, with those on Saturday and Sunday stopped.

“In terms of the weekends, it is just a fact that the numbers who are viewing at weekends do tend to be significantly lower,” Johnson’s spokesman said. The prime minister would lead one press conference a week, he added.

tbf, as there's always a lag, not sure the weekend ones have served any benefit other than to get Dom excited anyway.

If they spent as much time fighting this pandemic as they did massaging figures and managing their own PR we'd all be back at work now

Iran having a second wave is quite worrying but ours is coming down well but just not quick enough

I would guess trump isn't hidding in his bunker to escape any rioting, he is down there with bottles of bleach, putting it into vaccine tubes ready to sell to the first buyer!

Sadly, the Democrats have paid no attention to the reasons why Clinton lost and are about to repeat the same thing with Biden.

Biden is far far far more popular than Clinton was.

He is 17 points clear with non affiliated voters.

Who has been in charge up until now then? We know the scientists are being ignored so not them.

When he was being questioned the other day he said something about not being allowed to make announcements but nobody followed up on it.

I can’t believe it’s still not yet crystal clear- Boris has always been just a front man, the guy that can get people on side, the affable oaf that people warm to- look to Cummings and other certain individuals for who really pulls the strings- you can find copious articles & stories about the real decision makers all over the place.

They do think it helps, apparently it's one of the reasons for the high number of deaths amongst BME people.
