As you ask, supply and demand chain impact, real and possible, especially in oil. But I'm not sure what point you are making or how this contradicts the point being made.

Because I mentioned a few things being adversely affected by the continued Spread
of Coronavirus ‘financial markets crashing being one of them.
You corrected me by saying financial markets were crashing because of volatility, so
Are world financial markets crashing atm as a direct consequence of the virus ‘or not.

Yes, and the oil price war. I wasn't correcting you on that. I was making the point that the smart, geopolitcal, big money knows where the bottom of the market should be. When we know where the bottom is (higher or lower) this will give us the true picture of the impact on SARS2 on the world. We don't know that yet, so I guess that's was my point.

You need to calm down. It is what it is, and the people (yes, they are politicians despite your best protestations otherwise) making the decision to go down the route of science as opposed to medicine are firmly rooted in eugenics & darwinism. You can squeal as much as you like, that is the bottom line, it is unarguable. You clearly have google as you're able to reproduce & fawn over every word that is said by the 'experts', perhaps try broadening your outlook and also google the views & philosophies of the people who chose to take this approach, it will all make sense to you then.

Science and medicine go hand in hand-science is also currently working towards a vaccine. For the first time ever I find myself agreeing with Boris Johnson about the approach being taken and it is being criticised for being 'technocratic', or codeword for 'I don't understand it'. You're again trying to take the moral high ground when the evidence would appear to show that we are taking the correct course of action. Not even the SNP are disagreeing with it.

Number of deaths and confirmed cases by comparison to other states of similar or even smaller size

Forecasts that show we are delaying the peak until other winter illnesses are off the radar

This isn't some plot to kill off the elderly.

Then you’ll concede that a “forecast” is no kind of evidence. Then we’ll progress to round things off by dismantling the rest of this ‘evidence’, and we’ll be done in no time.

Also think about the culture of the Chinese and Italy in how they look after the older members of their families! They bring them into their family homes and lots have families have 3 generations or more living together. Unfortunately it puts the older ones at risk because of the closeness they achieve and very little chance to avoid the virus if one member come home with it.

No, simply that when the dust settles over the next few weeks we'll be able to take our cue from the market as to how serious the effect of the virus is.

Market is mad at the moment. Dow has just gone from 3% to over 9% in the 30 minutes that Trump has been explaining his emergency health plan, with the help of his business buddies. We've had his mates from Google, Roche, LabCorp, mentions for Walmart etc. One big ad! Only is the US would you have testing drive-thus.

I’m pleased you’ve had good experiences of it, really. Italy’s health system though is organised and funded by region - think it’s 15 regions or something like that. It’s the very definition of a postcode lottery as to how good your health care experience will be. Hope you continue to see the good side of it genuinely.

Out of interest how long you been there - there for work or live permanently? I have family in the north - Milan area and also the south. Safe to say they’re all very anxious.

Yup, while here we just stick them I care homes and don't bother visiting them.

Been to my mum's new care home now six times, all different days and different times of days, daytime and evening and the most number of cars I have ever seen there on any of the days, has been one. Mine and one other. Car park holds space for about 50 cars.

Is it possible that they’re not mentioning it because it’s bullshit?

Taking news off social media isn’t especially reliable. Everywhere is likely to see a very fast rise in cases, that’s what happens with epidemics.

I’m not entirely sure what the point of these kind of stories is, especially if they’re just made up. Is it to drive fear and hatred of Chinese people perhaps? Some knuckle draggers have already started down that road and we could do without further encouraging them.

Quick search on Google backs this up. They are literally thousands of them in Tuscany and places involved in the leatherand fabric areas for all the high fashion houses. Been there some time.

I live here permanently and this is my second time, been back since Jan 2019 and was over here for over 3 years before. I’ve lived mostly in the north east but spent 10 months in western Sicily. I’m working for an Italian company but working on setting up my own business and it’s going very well and already have a good mixture of UK and Italian clients, so hopefully this won’t impact it.
My partner works in the health service and she is beyond anxious at the moment, it really is very difficult at the moment. I was a little more blase about it up until this week but now it’s starting to actually get very difficult, the psychological impact of not actually being able to properly move around or even leave the country is quite surreal to be honest!
