Germany's infection curve may be flattening - health chief
There are signs Germany's infection curve - reflecting rise in the number of cases - may be becoming less steep, according to the head of the country’s public health institute.

"We are seeing signs that the exponential growth curve is flattening off slightly," Lothar Wieler, president of the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) for disease control, told reporters.

"But I will only be able to confirm this trend definitively on Wednesday. But I am optimistic that the measures are already having an effect, which is very early because they have only been in place for a week."

Efforts to reduce the spread of the virus in the country have included school closures, hygiene measures such as hand-washing and restrictions on public gatherings.

The RKI reported earlier on Monday that the country now had 22,672 cases of Covid-19 - an increase of 4,062 on the previous day - and that 86 people had died so far.

I got contacted earlier to inform me that I am a key worker. Seems like word is out where needed before the news was out in Scotland.

I now await Boris later.

Was here: Chinese scientists raise concerns over potential link between coronavirus and male fertility

Though seems it’s been removed: Unproven report linking coronavirus to male infertility removed - BioNews

Point remains that it’s a new virus and we don’t fully know the long term effects. You’re right that generally most will be ok both young and old, but the idea that young people are invincible seems to be behind a lot of the “Ill do what I want” thinking that’s so dangerous.

On the basis you have to take any positives where you can, I could handle the fertility problems, would save me a procedure afterwards.

I've got family members who are worried sick, it's getting hard to keep people rational at the moment, hearing constant panic on the news isn't helping either.
If your fit enough and under 70 you will survive catching the virus, so why the panic, sure, follow guidelines, and dont mix etc, dont risk giving it to others, etc etc, but I'm more concerned with the state of peoples mental health after all this is over.

Yeah, because a spell on a ventilator even if you survive isn't a physically and mentally scarring experience, honestly, get a grip.

At this rate we’ll be overtaking socialist Finland and be the happiest country in the world, socialist Finland having just scooped the title for a third consecutive year. Just pipping the other happy socialist countries to the top spot.Bloody socialist with their happy population, who’d want that?

With the supermarkets would it be possible to book a slot to go and shop, as you do with click and collect or delivery, this way they could control the numbers turning up and in store, have somebody in control of the trolleys cleaning between customer's and checking booking reference. Just a thought

They can put what ever measures they want in but if 1000’s are going into supermarkets all day then it don’t matter what things are in place

We have a small off site storage unit on the estate next to our main factory.
There's a big facility next door does paper products.
Was over there earlier and there were 3 18T lorries getting loaded with toilet paper.
Bet they're on 24/7 at the minute

The only problem is that the utterly useless NHS England are taking over commissioning, and NHS England was behind some of the worst privatisations ever seen. NHS England run by Simon Stevens former United Health CEO.
