Yeah, that’s why I wouldn’t be surprised if they started focussing on second jabs sooner, certainly before roll out to under 60s.

I’m expecting that and would applaud it if I’m honest. Vaccinate top 4 groups and then give the second one to those next. Mum has her date for start of April though so I assume everyone else has too

...oh look...it even quotes Herr Liese.....maybe hes a member of the DERP party.

It clearly quoyes him talking about AZ saying there are only issue in the EU supply line and nowhere else

" But one German EU lawmaker, Peter Liese, told Reuters the statement that there were difficulties in the EU supply chain but not elsewhere was "flimsy" and there should be "no problem to get the vaccine from the UK to the continent". "

Not exactly what you were saying now was it Barry.

Hopefully nothing or just an admin thing but my surgery, who have been doing 800 plus a day, have said they won’t be carrying out anymore vaccinations until authorised by NHS England.

Also 65% is far higher than the 52% the pfizer vaccine at 1 dose may give.

2-1 it may provide immunity to evens money.

Edit- or 1-2 Betting has never been my thing.

Personally, I don't like either odds when the risks are so great.

It still does mean an awful lot of people who will of had the jab will still die until the top-up of the second vaccination.

My brother in laws parents both positive. Only time they’ve been out was to get their vaccine a week last Saturday. Old couple and he’s pretty poorly.
Bless them

John Swinney accidentally arguing for the union

John Swinney also says Scotland could go further if the arrangements put in place by Westminster are thought to be "at a minimal level".

"We will look at other controls we can announce - including additional supervised quarantine measures - that can further protect us from importation of the virus, and we will set those out next week," he adds.

But he stresses that "border controls will work best on a four-nation basis", adding that "otherwise, for example, if Scotland establishes a supervised quarantine regime, and England does not, that could be problematic if unrestricted travel between Scotland and England resumes".

I doubt there are any real plans to come out of lockdown before Easter.

The rate of infection will shoot up fast when the restrictions are lifted.

Look how fast the new variant spread around Xmas time.

I’m planning on there being no school return until summer term. We also have been sent a very long survey by Ofqual to complete on GCSE and A level grading. Just in case Williamson tries to claim it’s all being sorted

Just received a text from my surgery telling me to call to book in for a vaccination, called straight away and booked in for Saturday morning at 9.05am.
Bit surprised to be getting it this early tbh and can’t help feeling a tad guilty, but I’m not going to turn it away.

Gordon Brown giving the new 'better together' plan is like asking an arsonist what's the best way to put out a fire. The only hope left is for the SNP to implode up here before the next elections.

Salmond is out for revenge. Should be quite a shitshow coming.

I think you are right on the timing but you know I just don’t trust the government not to totally drop the bollock on this. Just look at the narrative in the papers and on the TV in the last few days... it’s there for a reason. A plan has to include a vaccination schedule, staggered return and a guarantee that safety will be paramount. Otherwise we’ll be discussing this again in Lockdown 5 at the end of the year, after killing a lot more people because they didn’t get this last bit right.

Centerist politics. When the independence of Scotland being taught in schools for the last decade etc it will be more than enough to tip the dial. Also, add in Scotlands wish to remain within the EU and the 'Better Together' campaign last vote was all about stability, it all adds that it will more than likely only go one way.
