Christ almighty this pile of garbage website is shocking in terms of click bait at the best of times but it's been pathetic the last 3 weeks. Headline today 'Former Coventry city favourite sends come and get me transfer plea' Lo and behold it's about Matthew Pennington saying he wants to move to a perm club next season. Who gives a shit?

I know this is the way the world is going with internet journalism etc but the headlines of the past 3 weeks have been laughable. 'Coventry and Rotherham will be promoted in controversial plan received by FA' This one is about something the Maidenhead owner tweeted...Good God end Coventry live now.

It’s a joke they call themselves journalists, they’re just click bait copywriters.

I had forgotten all about Matthew Pennington. He was a good player when he was here. I just looked him up on Wikipedia. He is now 25 and has played less than 120 first team games at various clubs on loan. Only 7 of those appearances have been for his parent club Everton. No doubt he has earned a good living but could he not have still earned good money while actually playing for a championship club say and doing more of the thing he presumably loves? Why have Everton kept him? Why has he been willing to stay to the detriment of his career (if not his bank balance)?

This is equally as embarrassing.

Then the article:
"More likely seems to be a further postponement of play resuming."

Just trying to mislead people day in, day out constantly.

No shame at all.

The other is

TRANSFER EMBARGO WARNING

For clubs which plan to force their players to take a wage cut, which CCFC arent doing.

A decision ? Not bad as the EFL only said discussions would continue today. Their original comment was posted 1st April though I doubt its an April Fool.

Pretty sure they do it to get comments on facebook in the hope that the people replying somehow write their next "article"...

Most of their "breaking news" can be found either on here or on the dreaded FB page hours before they come up with anything anyway!

Its a shame that in between trying mislead fans and bullshit them they cant give the club credit for not cutting jobs, not cutting wages and covering the 20%.

Hopefully all their copy and pasters get fucked off.

While it is annoying it needs to be remembered that they're not the only ones. EVERY local paper owned by the organisation has been told to operate in the same manner. I'm sure most of them are frustrated, know it isn't proper journalism and want out but everywhere is the same. So their heart's not in it and they just do a lazy job in general.

If they hated it so much surely they would get a new job?

It's the scrolling through ads to get to the actual point. That bothroyd article btw is one I read months ago. And they're rehashed it today of all days, probably to make it look like it's to do with today's update. And to get to the section about cov (one sentence) it's 75% scrolling through dross

Not going to give them a click but sure it mentions how the comments are inconsistent with previous articles:
Jay Bothroyd remembers Coventry City spell fondly

How do you know they're not trying? Only so many jobs in journalism to go round if that's what they want to do and they've still got bills to pay in the meantime. It's a first step on the career ladder for many aspiring journalists and even if they manage to get away there'll be a ton of applicants to replace them looking for their way in. Even if it is a shit start it is at least a start.

The ads are just plain weird too. At least give something that I may want to buy rather than "fat melting liquid" or a thing that " over 60s simply must have"
