Having seen the reaction to the sacking and the fan forum, it's pretty clear there are a large proportion of fans who are very unhappy already and you have to think they could quite quickly turn on the new manager if results are poor, regardless of what that new manager is saying or doing.

I think it’s far more likely that they just haven’t finalised the deal yet. The idea that Lampard needs to be protected from facing Sheffield United at home just doesn’t make sense.
