Transfer Rumour Carl Rushworth - Permanent (2 Viewers)

Just looking at the Birmingham forum, they're reckon we're being fleeced and Jeremy Beadle is worth more next summer 😂😂😂
How much did Jeremy gain them? Negative £5m in wages and fees
How much did Rushy gain us? About £200m give or take as part of the collective

Not one serious fan of any club would take him over rushy, not a single one.

Not so much in recent times but we have had some really good goalkeepers over the years.

I’m not going to put them in order, because they played at different times and at different levels, but Glazier, Hedman, Oggy, Kirkland and Rushworth all readily spring to mind. I also think that, provided he recovers fully from his injury and rediscovers his form, Dovin will be very good.

I hope Dovin goes out on loan for the forthcoming season. If we are relegated, Rushworth will be off to a Premier League team (whether that be Brighton or someone else) but all being well Dovin will be a ready-made replacement and we can spend any profit we make on Rushworth in strengthening the team to come straight back up.
Westwood was a top keeper too.

No mention of a massive fee from this helmet either like when Gyokeres was sold to Sporting.

I note how he mentions a £30m package (basically including all ads ons). Hopefully the £20m package for Loum is structured similarly.

Romano is such a tit

Oggy was a fine keeper too and played in the top flight for a long time .

Mmmm....we all have opinions. Oggy was an good keeper, certainly wouldn't say he was more than that. Hedman, Westwood and now Rushworth were a lot better. Only in my opinion, of course.

We shouldn't write off Dovin either. I think he will become a very good keeper too.

Oggy is my all-time hero but imagine him playing in the modern game. Even with coaching I just don't see him with the ball at his feet looking anymore comfortable than I would now, an accountant aged 50, with a dodgy knee.

We seem to have had a few keepers recently who have had a a really good first season then just fallen off the cliff - Marosi, Collins, Moore

Time will tell Oggy played for years in the top flight , Rushworth hasn't yet. It will intesting to see if Dovin plays in any of the remaining friendlies ,if not then I can only assume he is not fully fit

Romano is such a douche. Made a huge following during Covid then just became a mouthpiece for agents. Glad that people are beginning to realise he's sold out

Agree with this. And Blyth has to be in the list of greatest keepers. Man United offered a world record fee for Blyth before a failed medical. Like you I have a lot of hope for Dovin as well.

I actually think that’s a great deal for us, depending on the nature of the add ons, especially in this ridiculous market and who we were dealing with.

so does he take the #19 or the #1 from Dovin?

I watched a highlight video of the season a couple of days back. The first goal he conceded at Pride Park I remember convincing myself he was crap.

Then at Oxford the week after when he parried the free kick straight to Lankashear. People wanted Wilson back in goal.

Well that's that over at last!

I thought £15m max but there seems to be a big inflation this summer with the new spending rules.

It's a huge gamble really. £20m odd rising to £30m is an awful lot to put into one position and only an injury away from losing the lot. It'll restrict what we do elsewhere on the pitch too. LB needs addressing pretty badly and probably a CB and cover for Grimes/Onyeka. I'm not sure at all.
