Transfer Rumour Carl Rushworth - Permanent (7 Viewers)

Seems a good deal at £22.5m

I expected we would end up paying around £20m for him, reports of £30m was walk away territory but in the end it's a pretty sensible price

it is £22.5m upfront rising to £30m

Yeah I meant the reports of Brighton rejecting a £25m bid and rumours they wanted 30 (up front). That's silly money.

But 22.5 up front is decent 👍🏻

Many buy back clauses arent active for a couple years
perhaps so.

I know City’s for trafford wasn’t.

I think the likelihood is it’ll be a £40m buyback starting next summer

only thing about a buy back is he has to agree to it too, even if they make the move he can say fuck off

True.

I’m pleased we have him.

Buyback stings
I guess it’s accept the buyback or don’t get the player.

Much happier with Rushworth coming here and ultimately he can tell them to bugger off if they come sniffing. Just hope it’s at least a healthy profit on the £22.5 million

£22.5m is a more comfortable price. Hope there's still a fair bit left in that kitty.

The buy back will be a potential fee King will be happy with so I’m not too concerned about it

He went to Burnley for 2 years and then the buy back was activated as it matched Newcastle’s offer. £15m and buy back was £30m. He was promised to be no.1 at City but they screwed him over.

It will be at least 2 seasons and at least double if not more at £45m. Plus he can’t be forced to go back.

Relax.

If it was up to most of the experts on here we’d have walked away with the prospect of Wilson playing at Arsenal with clubs knowing we’re desperate and with money to spend.
Or just start bidding for random players we don't want to show we're really serious.

Doug when Brighton agreed to the £60m buyback

Buy backs are inserted quite a lot and quite rarely occur. And when they do...they dont go well. Alot will have to fall in place to happen.
Also, if people dont trust in DK by now then God help them

Hopefullly it will be to match whatever anyone else offers rather than a set amount

End of the day even with a buy back if the player doesn’t want to move back it doesn’t happen. Not overly worried about it.

It's the sell on clause with Brighton. I wonder what percentage they negotiated?

The buyback isn't necessarily the worst thing in the world anyway. I wonder what the long term plan for Dovin is now? Perhaps he can be understudy / longer term successor?
I thought this - if we get relegated it probably gets triggered taking what’s likely 50k a week off the bill. Dovin becomes no1

Didn't Man City screw Wrexham over with a buy back clause for Callum Doyle that was less than Wrexham paid for him? Btw, I'm not saying that Brighton have done this.

Let's be honest Brighton aren't gonna spend £40 million to buy back Rushworth I seriously doubt, it's not in there model to spend that much money on a single transfer never mind on a goalkeeper
