It just means the opposition are as well. Lucky us.

Both party’s talent pipelines have been gutted. Tories can make more with less hassle in finance or similar, lefties are all activists or wonks these days instead of leaders thanks to the demise of unions.

As I've just said , and a point backed up by the head of AA , that driver shortages in this sector are localised 1 large company was having staffing issues but isn't enough to cause this mess ..and the reason we are running out at the pumps is PURELY panic buying .. no other reason at this point

If it was just fuel you would have a point, but it's not, is it?

No I'm with you there are driver shortages , but in regards to this particular issue .. it's not the main factor , it may have been the trigger for the media to report on it obsessively with 1 company having minor issues thus creating panic , but it's now a people problem .. people are just twats

Also in regards to immigration , why does it have to be such a battleground subject ?

There isn't a leading country in the world in or out the EU that doesn't use immigration to fill roles , we should allow people to live here and work to fill these roles

That doesn't mean that our government have to neglect its own people by failing to train millions of working age people up with trades needed and in demand .. this Labour shortage has been arguably brewing for decades whilst millions of British people left school with absolutely no worthwhile qualification

We've become a very unskilled nation

So why haven't the Bulldog Brits stepped up to the plate to drive the lorries, pick the fruit and look after people in care homes?

After all these forinnerrrrs came over here and nicked our fruit picking jobs.

Brexit was five years ago, surely Brits have been queuing up for these jobs?

Maybe, just maybe foreign labour was a good thing, eh?

It was cheap and companies could pay cheap Labour and allow them to live in atrocious conditions as the minimum wage is much higher than many places then came from (and many had the wages taken off them to live in shite)

it seems you have lurched to the right

Sounds sensible. Yet it seems British workers are reluctant to do certain jobs like picking fruit. Can't have it both ways.

The whole Vote Leave campaign trumpeted by racists like Rees Mogg and Farage hinged on those Romanians and other undesirables coming over here and taking our jobs.

Turkey too joining the EU was another big lie.

Trouble is racists and the uneducated believed the bullshit and voted for their masters.

I always remember a woman from Wolverhampton on the news who said she was voting Brexit because "foreigners and their kids wanted to come over and make better lives for themselves". So?

I know people on here love to protect the media , but their role in this is clear as day ..

People naturally follow the information that they're given , and that information comes mostly from mainstream and social media

What’s the alternative? Media coverage undeniably helps panic buying to spread - you can certainly make an argument for therefore banning the media from covering any story that might incite a panic. But that sends us down a road of authoritarian/state-controlled media, and as you suggest yourself, social media will gladly pick up the mantle of spreading panic anyway.

What we really need is for the media to be less alarmist and more objective/rational about reporting this stuff, but consumers show time and time again they don’t want that (even if they consistently say they do). Some kind of regulation seems wise to me, the question is where it comes from - it surely can’t be the government.

I think that’s doing us down TBH. We’re world leading in a lot of knowledge work, we’ve gutted manufacturing but education, a lot of computing, pharmacy, etc we’re world leading.

The idea you can have a solid economy on just knowledge work and services was the mistake the Tories made in the 80s though. Germany seemed to get the right mix.

Fruit picking is shit wages and shit conditions. Why would anyone do it? We can attract people willing to do that because our currency is worth so much more not because we’re work shy and they aren’t. People the world over respond to the same pressures.

Highly educated people run this country , there's an argument to be made that the educated are fucking wankers too, after all these are the very people (the educated ) that are moaned about day in day out on here that treat people like second class citizens to line their own pockets

He’s accusing Angela Raynor of being scum by calling her Vicky, a clear reference to the fictional character Vicky Pollard while also accusing you of labelling the “underclass” as “scum”. Although you suggested no such thing.

I think a lot of people who run the country aren't highly educated at all. They may have gone to the best schools in the land, but family connections got them there rather than intelligence.

Are Johnson, Raab, Truss, etc intelligent? I don't think so.

Not all racist thickos are working class. Farage and Johnson being fine examples.

They are highly educated though , Boris graduated with a 2.1 , excelled in Latin, English and politics .

He clearly falls into the category of educated , despite him being a massive c**t

Government- English degree

Zahawi - chemical engineering degree

Educated people

the feeedom movement is a way of exploring cheap Labour. No German will be fruit picking - they will be targeting cheap Labour from countries where our minimum wage is much higher then there Offering - they then end up getting no real money at all as the accommodation (10 to a room no doubt) is “provided” - that’s your precious freedom of movement in action

You seem angry and somewhat deranged

The funniest thing about the people who accuse other of promoting something close to slave labour are also the ones who were critical of labours plans to hike the minimum wage at the last election as unsustainable, keep quiet about the removal of the £20 uplift to working families, keep quiet about the over 10% rise in NI that is going to disproportionately hit the lowest paid the most, the increase in food banks, the growth in the inequality gap between the rich and the poor over the last 10 years etc etc etc. Seems they don’t mind inequality so long as it’s not Johnny Foreigner on the receiving end.

Truss was through the comp system wasn’t she as was Patel? So despite both achieving higher ranks of office as females in a bigoted party they are thick as they are Tory

There’s a difference between being highly educated and going to expensive private schools. A lot of them are also incredibly rich and self-serving.

Not me , I have moaned about most those things on here ..
There is an element of slave labour in it all .
Used to deliver to farms a few years back , they had workers living in the farms in caravans paying them wages with bills taken out for their accommodation.. effectively paying them whatever they liked .. in some cases the way we abuse foreign workers rights is appalling

They all got the degrees though , no different to anybody that went to university and got theirs .

Agree with their politics or not , they are no different to many in labour in that respect.

I agree they are wankers , but it doesn't discredit their qualifications

They are classed as educated people

Almost as much sense as saying that they’re clever because they’re Tories. Diane Abbot had an at least equal education to Patel, also doesn’t have a grasp for numbers like Patel but you’ve been gloating that she’s stupid for years. What makes Abbot thick and Patel not?

Let's not muddy the water with what's educated or not , when the argument is always used whenever we try and figure out who voted for what (wether they have a degree or higher education ).

Example , the less educated vote tory , the less educated vote brexit .

Let's just keep it straight , the current leaders of the country fall into the category of educated , which proves that an education doesn't mean you aren't a prick , lack common sense or struggle to excell in many other things
