Just what I was thinking! McGinnity stooge and he walked away from that rein somehow blame free.

This ‘offer’ seems paltry at best and doesn’t feel me with confidence of club finance in the future.

They’re giving away the clubs assets as a sweetener and I can’t where any future income would come from.

Beware a wolf in sheep’s clothing ...

To be honest, this has all cranked up again because the general feeling was people would follow the club out of the city this time, hasn’t it.

There’s our current owners who have so far backed a very decent manager enough to make us competitive. Who also have no plans to sell.

I’ve seen nothing from this consortium that suggests how we’d be self sustaining at the Ricoh.

And that’s before you get into the morons involved. I hate Sisu and I’d rather have them than the Hoffman and Elliot clown show.

This has all cranked up because the consortium think Sisu are in a bind. They are not.

The ''paltry' offer is an opening bid, is it not? As others have said, you cannot buy something that isn't necessarily for sale. Imagine if they'd offered 15m and it had been accepted, but then we had no money for players, had to sell everybody and got relegated. People would then have criticised them for bidding too high. It's just an attempt to get them to engage (whether futile or not). The die has been cast, let's see how it plays out, and let's hope we are all able to enjoy our club next season.

And that’s all it is.
I’m sure it’s been highlighted already...even if sisu were to sell today that wouldn’t stop them taking wasps/ccc to court.
This is all about pressurising sisu to sell...fuck the club and us fans.
It’s a poor show.

Nothing but a PR piece intended to stoke up fans and turn the lense from CCC/Wasps back to SISU.

Cannot wait for the hostile and distracting atmosphere on Saturday, when the focus should be on another massive game for us. Absolute naivety if people think negativity from the stands doesn’t impact the players, ‘they’re professional footballers’ is not an acceptable counter argument. They’re people just like us, being footballers doesn’t make them immune.

It would be great if our local media, Trust or someone with connections with the club initiated some worthwhile investigation into this. One party is clearly lying; they either have proof of funds or they don’t.

I actually think, after a decade of cock ups, Fisher has worked out how to run the finances of a lower league team, what the numbers are, what you need to spend, and how. However it does depend on having a good manager and thus far Robins is the only good one he has ever found out of 9 appointments. If I were him I would see promotion as a double edged sword as the numbers, and thus the business risk are so much greater. The problem with Hoffman is that, while financially being little different from SISU in terms of the crucial relationship with Wasps, he will be starting from scratch with regards the day to day business knowledge of a third tier football team. We don't just want SISU out, that is only half the equation, we need it replaced by a financial set up that can fund prosperity in the Championship (forget the Prem - waste of time and money).

We need SISU out but somebody to come in and run it like SISU do ?

Pretty much. SISU, for all their ills, seem to have us running relatively close to breakeven over the last 2-3 years and we are seeing some continuity and competitiveness on the pitch. Factor in their move towards future cuts of fees (Maddison, Wilson) and it means coaches get the chance to build something more long-term.

In which case that's staggering naivity from the off by the consortium and yet many fans seem willing to accept them with open arms and think they are a suitable group to run the football club. Absolutely 0 lessons learned from when SISU took over.

The Trust have chimed up, exactly the same "Hoffman will do a deal with Wasps and can save us" approach as predicted

In a statement they said: "The Sky Blue Trust notes the reported offer made by Gary Hoffman to purchase Coventry City Football Club which has been rejected by SISU owner Joy Seppala.

"Our initial thoughts on this would be thatthe most recent sale of a League 1 Club was Portsmouth, sold last year for £5.67million. Portsmouth have a ground.

"Compared to that over £7 million for Coventry, who don’t have a ground, seems generous. "

The statement went on: "We are also concerned that the continued inability of CCFC to show where home games will be played next season must be distracting away from Mark Robins and his players' efforts to push for the play-offs.

"We also feel that a sale to someone who can do a deal with Wasps to play at the Ricoh would solve the current crisis."

I think more will than before but not enough to prevent the club running at a considerable loss. A groundshare situation will probably end up in relegation to League 2 again.

If they had any intention of following up with better offers, I'm not sure they'd have gone public.

Portsmouth were owned by fans, it's comparing apples and oranges. At the end of the day, unless the owner is desperate to sell, then the club is worth what they are happy to sell it for. Admittedly it would be helpful if they put some sort of price on it, but chances are they are seeing this offers as nothing more than a publicity stunt.

We're so fucked. 2 Hedge Funds digging their heels in, a council who couldn't give a flying fuck, a consortium that consists of a bunch of charlatans who, despite being largely complicit in us being exactly where we are, have rebranded themselves as some kind of saviours and then our main fan group being anything other than objective because they've been given a reach around and a promise of 10% fan ownership or a seat on the board or whatever it is they've been offered by Hoffman that has made them sell their impartiality.

What's that based on? I don't know too much about the personal background of Hoffman other than being a City fan and being from a financial background.

It is timed to co-incide with the Trust things today. Duggins has already been saying how they should sell to Hoffman in the Telegraph.

It's their 5th bid. The last four have been said by SISU to not be credible and this one appears to have been treated the same.

The 4th bid was said to be worth £20m but it turned out that was mostly promises of payments based on the clubs future success. According to an interview given with the Telegraph by one of the consortium members around the time of the 4th bid also included allowing SISU to "Have Ryton, it’s worth about £6million to £8million, so have that if that’s going to make the deal worth it".

Looking at that is it any surprise a bid of "more than £7m", which implies its not much more or why use that figure, has been dismissed?

Interesting the interview contained no details of how Ryton would be replaced and that meeting the ongoing costs of the club would require crowds of "15,000 - 20,000".

Odd they can get that out so quickly yet when they are asked to make statements against other sides involved they are too busy. How much more evidence does there need to be that they are all up to their necks in this alongside Hoffman and his crew?

Comparing the bid to the Portsmouth sale is absolute nonsense and just undermines any point they are trying to raise. Yes Portsmouth have a ground however the ground is land locked and there is a restriction meaning the land can only be used for football, making it worthless to developers. They also don't have a training ground, they were training in the local park but since the 'fans' takeover they moved to the local Roko. CCFC meanwhile have a training ground valued at £6-8m.

And of course the biggest difference is Portsmouth and owners who wanted and needed to sell, we don't.

Odd that he seems to have missed that the protest is supposed to also be against the council and Wasps. Sure someone from the Trust will put him right on that.

To be fair, Pompey train at a uni facility on the outskirts of Southampton. Or at least they did relatively recently.
