Well yep, if the people of Coventry hadn't embraced Wasps and gone up to watch them then they'd just be left with a few thousand original Wasps supporters who decided to follow them up.

I'd be curious as to how many from Coventry are going. I know quite a lot coming from Brum (never football fans) and places like Leamington, Stratford & Warwick - again who were never really football fans in the 1st place.
I still maintain it's largely a different fanbase for the 2 sports or clubs in this case.
Same as this nonsense of establishing Rugby League at the Ricoh. There's only a few clubs up North (the home of RL) that seem to be able to get 5 figure crowds. Didn't they try for years to keep a London team going but just couldn't get the crowds? (a much bigger catchment area which by size alone should contain a decent % of ex-pat Northerners who are supposed to like the game)

Just a question:

Does anyone feel if Sixfields (this isn't blame pointing) hadn't of happened, would there be less apathy to fight off Wasps?

Like I said, ignore who was to blame for N'hampton etc, just take the event itself.

Northampton pissed everybody off, but it is history. What is needed now is a decision on where we are going. We should all support and follow our team, but..... we are lacking a clear plan. No-one knows where we will land up, or for that matter, what SISU's or Wasps' end game is. Every few weeks there is another twist or turn. The lack of motivation to do anything will remain so long as there is no clear goal. Someone ( other than Wasps ) has got to present a game plan - whether it is optimal or not - without that there will be no group actions by the fans as everyone has their own view of what is happening. No-one knows what to protest for.

I know a few City supporters who go and I do see a fair few Wasps jersey's around town and have also seen Wasps flags in house windows too.

Would be interesting to know how many Coventry folk go up.

Wasn't it 90 odd percent of one of the bigger games from the cv postcode?

92% according to wasps. Also it's worth remembering a large percentage of CCFC fans have a CV postcode but are outside of the City.

You would think, if anything, it would increase opposition as we have recent experience of our club being taken away.

There can't be many coming from that far away. There won't be that many pre-move Wasps fans in the area so we're looking at the 'just want to watch rugby' crowd. Past Hinckley / Nuneaton you're closer to Leicester Tigers, past Solihull you're closer to Worcester and past Rugby / Leamington you're closer to Northampton.

Exactly, but it hasn't.

The battle to get CCFC back to Coventry, took up most of people's energy IMO Also, the timing of Wasps arrival was at a time when we were just happy and grateful to be back home, so that also didn't help IMO, whereas I think before the Sixfields move or a few years later, it would have stirred more protest.

I think some people have genuinely given up caring with all that's going on and it's down to us "Core" of fans

As long as they can turn up and just watch the football most fans are oblivious to the politics.
I used to be like that. 'Debts' was just a word that would be sorted when the football was not on.

I really think it's time we all pushed promoted Coventry rugby club, can't stand the game, but little things like get there attendances up, get them more followers on twitter everyone who follows the football club should follow them any social media little things that will snowball.

Why would you now promote CRFC ? Just to suit your own agenda ? ... Why didn't you want to promote us and turn up when Wasps moved in back in 2014 ? .... If CCFC had agreed a deal with Wasps this week about the academy and the Ricoh you wouldn't give a toss about CRFC, so why do you care so much now ? .... If loads of you turned up just to further your own agenda I have to say you wouldn't be welcomed by me. Imagine the uproar if it was the other way round !

Reading a lot of the posts about this whole sorry situation illustrates why perhaps nobody takes this forum seriously. For a start the moderators need to do their job and not allow posters to incite criminal acts amongst many other things.

I too hate the fact Wasps moved in but it's happened and all the bitching in the world won't change it. You need to address what's happened and deal with it like adults not like a bunch of st trinians schoolgirls planning their next misdemeanour ! Make some kind of adult representations to Wasps rather than suggesting smashing the place up, running on the pitch etc etc .... Some of you need to grow up and get real, you may be surprised where it gets you.

I'm struggling to imagine any uproar if a few thousand CRFC fans turned up to one of our games.

If you look back to posts from when Wasps first arrived you will find many people expressing concern for CRFC and suggesting people, even those who don't like rugby, think about attending a game.

Yes, we were very concerned about thr impact wasps would have on CRFC back in 2014 and still now.

We would welcome CRFC fans who wanted to attend a CCFC match with open arms. I don't get covrugby's hostility.

Correct me if I am wrong but are you actually from Cov Rugby? If you want to post as them and pretend to be from them can you please send me a PM with a bit of proof before you can continue to post as them.

You must have missed some of the posts when Wasps first came in about Cov Rugby. There was actually lots of support.

If you have a problem with inciting criminal acts then feel free to report them or make a complaint

I'm not hostile .... Apologies if it comes across that way.

Yes there were a few expressing concern and 'thinking' about going to a game but that's as far as it went. But it's taken something serious happening to you guys to suggest some sort of mass action otherwise it wouldn't have happened that's all I'm saying. I'm not saying people are not welcome ... Just perhaps not welcome purely to further your own ends. The same as anyone attending CCFC games just for their own agenda.

The same as somebody posting on here for their own agenda?

I have spoken to somebody from Cov Rugby recently, they certainly don't share your views or attitude towards CCFC Fans.

They weren't posting from Ireland either.

Are you really a supporter?

Which criminal acts are being incited by the way?

You come on here and post about people not taking it seriously, Cov Rugby Club seem to. You also don't really have a clue about what was said when Wasps came in, there was a lot more support for Cov Rugby then.

Very interesting how there's a bit of talk about a Wasps protest and people supporting Cov Rugby, yet a Cov rugby fan is against it. I'd love nothing more as a CCFC fan than for cov rugby and cov city fans to stand together on something.

Like I said, make a complaint and report the posts if you don't like it and point out what is offending you so much that you have had to interrupt your holiday to sign up and moan about it.

The last thing I do when I go on holiday is sign up to forums and try to mask my IP address using a web server and then moaning as if you want stuff removing from a forum...

I'm having a lovely holiday thanks .... When people start talking about coming to my rugby club that I've supported for more than 40 years just to protest because things have gone pear shaped at their football club then it's not unreasonable for me to have something to say.

I think it was 90% from CV and B postcodes - which is a big old area - well over 3 million. The only two people I know who watch Wasps games are from Birmingham. Actually, one is from Telford, but was originally from Brum.

Didn't CRFC see a significant boost in attendances after Wasps arrived. It was widely reported. Also, I know a few people who took to watching Cov when city were exiled in Northampton - were they not welcome too?
