This would be great to be back in our home city followed by Warwick uni site for our own ground. Think the club will be quick to say its true as its been pre emptied by CWR.

Don’t think I said that it’s the kind of people who put I will buy a season ticket as soon as they come back and then when they do move the goalposts.

The best news for some time and many on here are cynical might be me but I think Mr. Gilbert's announcement not only gives us hope but puts pressure on all sides not to back out.

Great that we will be returning. However I will miss my trips to SA as it was a bit of an adventure. Drive to Banbury to catch the train to Moor Street. Walk up to Digbeth for a pint and something to eat. Stroll back to station after the game for a coffee and cake then train back to Banbury again. For the Ricoh it’s straight to the car park into the stadium then straight back home.
Obviously prefer to be back in Cov but have to say quite enjoyed last years experience.

I too get the train from Banbury but head straight to the Cherry Tree for a few scoops before and after.

Whatever you think of the Ricoh the ultimate thing is Coventry City Football Club plays in Coventry. If this brings a bit of stability back and we manage to get better access to revenues for 7-10 years then we can’t complain considering our current situation.

This isn't a big surprise to me. Once the club saw the state of the art sports bar (skittles! toilets! plug sockets!) there's no way they could stay away from TOMORROW'S WORLD

Why did some think that Simon Gilbert (not employed by Cov or Wasps) was going to be able to make an official announcement. I know he can be a bit of a prick at times but what else is he expected to do?

A bit bittersweet that I won’t be going back to St Andrews, quite enjoyed the 45 minute trips each week having a catch up with my Dad

Don’t think they will have enough space as they seem to have some issues with their stands.

If we stay up, then the first game back at the Ricoh, with no social distancing restrictions, will be absolutely magic. If we go down, it’ll probably be rubbish.

Just glad the St Andrew’s nonsense is finally over. The games I went to there were glum as fuck, and if it hadn’t been for the fact we won the bloody league, it’d have been every bit as bad as Northampton.

Was gonna say similar but felt it was too soon considering I know this is massive news for those who feel they can’t watch us outside the city. I can already taste the £5 stale lager in the non-atmospheric casino...

It’s obviously great news for the club and a more stable future, I just wish I felt excited by it. The Ricoh does absolutely nothing for me.

I look at it as 1 and a half hours watching us play in our own city. Not arsed about liking or disliking the Ricoh. Then it's back to the pub.

It started off ok at St Andrews but the atmosphere dropped away fairly quickly even with the team winning. Even though the team was winning there were more times I would look at my watch and think can I really be bothered to go as the travel became a bit of a pain really.

There were a few games that were fabulous and had we won the league there there would be a number more before the end of the season. I feel differently to Birmingham than Northampton. I genuinely think that it wasn’t all Sisu fault and it definitely wasn’t ccfc fault that things failed 2 seasons ago.
I just hope this is a long term deal and we can focus on increasing the money to the team on the pitch

I hope the remaining pubs closeby learn from it from the pubs in Bham and make a bit of effort for the football fans.

I was under the impression the break with Birmingham's ground owner would be easy. When did this change? Did we sign an agreement for x number of seasons?

One of the pubs looked really busy after the games not sure if it’s the same around the Ricoh as I have to drive.

If we come back, I couldn't give a flying fuck if I get my exact seat or not. More than happy for somebody who hasn't been before to get a season ticket there. I'll just move back a bit.

I Fully get that, I wasn’t trying to remotely put a downer on those who have that as their day of football and I imagine for most it’s so much better. I’m glad we’re back in Coventry.

For me, going to the football is a day out with my mates and more recently my dad, who isn’t a cov fan. Away days over the last three years allowed for us to get somewhere early have a nice few pints in decent pubs, speak to home fans, watch early kick off etc. I always assumed it was just an away day thing, and you don’t get it at home grounds. However, St Andrews gave us that opportunity at “home” games and we enjoyed it. I don’t want to stay there, it’s still completely wrong, but I’m not blown over by being back at the Ricoh either. Would kill for our own ground that felt like a football experience is all.

Yeah when you compare them to the Bull and Anchor for example where they looked pissed off that football fans dared to go in there. No extra bar staff on etc.

Most of them by St Andrews were rammed every game.

Looking at the state of their pitch they will probably be glad to be rid of us, but the local businesses will miss an extra week of money, where I used to park it was £5 and was always packed a nice little earner for somebody.
