Thanks for the memories & goals Marc but as that sign says at Ryton “it’s the name on the front of the shirt that matters not the name on the back”.

Glad this is all done and dusted in the first week of July.

No hard feelings. Thanks for a great season.

Now let’s focus on the quality replacement ... this deal will not be a surprise for Robins.

Player doesn't want to stay, let him fuck off/ what can you do? Id like to see Eisa. I'd say he's a better player than McNulty.

Get in Eisa and Armstrong as replacements. Could be the fastest team in our history.

I think we have to get someone like that, have no problem going for Chaplin but feel like we need a decent replacement who can score goals already. Not everyone is a hidden gem like McNulty/McGoldrick

Can’t give him any shit or show animosity about this. As many have said, great opportunity for him and likely will see a huge increase in pay - who would turn that down? Loyalty not a thing anymore etc etc.

Best of luck Marc and thanks for all the goals

What the fuck are you talking about? Robins stayed loyal to him despite his non-scoring form, as did most of the fanbase (a few comments on social media isn't the end of the world). This is how he repays that faith. It leaves a very very sour taste for me.

Certainly won't defend him, or more likely his agent, engineering a move away in this manner but you have to admit it was only a few months ago he was getting booed by some of our fans. No doubt the same ones who will be up in arms about the sale and blaming SISU or Robins.

Bless him!

Tell him by 5pm on the day of the Scunthorpe game he’ll have a new even better one!

Annoyed but we are always going to lose players when the carrot is dangled in front of them or whoever pays the bills. SISY wont invest themselves so there is no real alternative to this formula. We just have to keep developing the kids or re-kick starting those who have lost their way. Not good but weve been here before .... just peeved were losing talent to giants like Reading and Norwich lol.

Lets hope MR gets the money and can turn his magic on whoever is seen as our preferred striker.

Probably sour grapes on my part, mate. He clearly has ability that is above league 2/league 1 but can't help but think he has yet to reach that potential and a pro athlete striving to be the best that could be wouldnt behave like that.

No players bigger than the club. We've had numerous similar threads on here when various players have left and they were soon forgotten.

If he doesn't want to be here let him go. He'll make a few quid, not like he would have ben skint anyway, but there's every chance he won't repeat last season.

He's had one decent season in L2. Over 3 seasons in L1 he managed 11 goals in 55 games. Suspect it might be asking a bit much if they're expecting him to bang 20 goals in again next season.

Just got back from Isle Of Wight and just read the news about McNulty, pretty gutted that he is leaving so soon, let's just hope he is a one season wonder, and his replacement fires us into the Championship

Young family, lives just up the road from me in Hinckley, fair play to him he fired us up last season. Shame that agents can get in players heads like this because I’m sure all the players still on a buzz from last season but money talks and he has to think of his family short career is football.

Shame, as I was really looking forward to seeing how he performed in League One, but football is a short career! I just hope it works out for him and he doesn’t become a bench warmer when he could be playing football with us.

Just hope the replacement is equally as good!

I feel sorry for any young fan who might have purchased a new shirt and had McNulty on the back.

I hope the club let people return shirts and have a new player name on them.

It's a mistake selling him ... he was on a 2 year deal .. .we could have had one more year and sold him next year had we not gone up ... I get he wanted to go ... but that's what contracts are for ... would have kept him ... no doubt ... but SISU ... they just don't learn ... shame we could have pushed for L1 promotion ... but whilst I actually do think we will reinvest most/some of this money .. the guy coming in won't be a ready made replacement for McNulty and we lose the momentum ... such a shame .. had a lot of optimism for this season ... still think we will stay in L1 this year ... but promo i doubt will happen now ... shortsightedness again ...

Have you read what Robins has said? The bit where it was only his agent pushing the deal through.

I hate almost everything about modern day football, from the demise of the sliding tackle to the players and agents who worship at the altar of money. The sooner it all implodes and the game gets back to its roots the better.

It's his movement that I'll miss more than anything. The runs he makes are fantastic and cause all kinds of problems in defence.

Think we've got some good players coming in though and there will be more creativity this year what with Andreu, Jones and Allessani coming in. So like someone said earlier hopefully there will be less emphasis on having someone who can score 25 goals if as a collective others can contribute

Yes, I did Nick to be fair ... but even an agent can't make us sell ... and I appreciate that Robins wasn't forced to sell ... he says that too ... but with a two year deal already in place, I'd have kept him one more year ... then sold if we didn't go up ... no crystal ball here ... so could be wrong, let's hope they get a player equal to the challenge, but by definition had there been a better player than McNulty for the amount they've paid us ... Reading would have bought him and not McNulty ...

Well that’s modern football and he has to look after himself and his family. Even halfwits like Stevenson can engineer a move away if they want as was proved last season.
I wish him all the best-he was part of a team who reignited the flame for me when it was in danger of going out.

Unfortunately it won’t get back to its roots...just hope it loses the excesses of greed, cheating and being prima donnas.
