He was decent against United too.

He's been extremely disappointing this season. If we had spend £3-8m on him this summer, we'd have been losing our marbles. Thankfully for him, he has credit from last season.

Even Tavares did ok against United

Immensely frustrating player. Said before I think the thing that lets him down most is his personality style - he has neither the will to win nor the desire to improve himself. He’s borderline uncoachable.

Sell him in the summer and bring in someone who better fits what we need. Can’t try and play a high pressing style with a traffic cone up front.

Keep hoping he will suddenly put in a performance like from his hot spell last season, but there is very little sign of that form returning. He really doesn't use his physique, and is too easily physically dominated by opposing defenders, while his lack of close control prevents him holding the ball up and bringing others into play. While I appreciate it is difficult up front on your own he also made it very easy for Luton's defenders yesterday by his lack of movement. I get the impression that he is too nice and a bit soft. A good example came from the Plymouth game when he accidentally caught a defender in the head, and looked to be almost in tears at what he had done. He just doesn't have that selfish hunger that the best strikers inevitably possess.

I know this is probably a ridiculouscomment but Simms reminds me of the Honey Monster in the cereal advert.

A big hulking presence with just no aggression and just blundering along.

He just isn’t up to the job

Was he advertising the wrong cereal?

What kind of idiot starts a thread like this? 🤣🤣

Tbf i stand by last season, he was truly awful. His jumping and heading so impressive now by comparison and presumably down to the coaching. Happy to be wrong, very likeable guy and deserves what hes getting for hard work.

Not sure about the bump though, I'm pretty sure any of us with a number of posts that arent just sheep have some chequered history, but I'll own it.

Keep going Ellis!

Making those haters keep their mouths zipped

Well the poll was silly but simms hasn’t been delivering much for a long time and last season was just poor.

Revisionism is great until it goes the other way.

Biamou all day everyday, was an absolute baller and underrated.

His turnaround and energy lifted the whole team.

One of my favourite players ever due to his role in those lowly times down the divisions

Lets be honest , lampard wouldnt even bring him on in a playoff semi .

Awful last season , like a new signing recently
Franks been top class this season but he made mistakes last season especially in the playoffs as he should of taken wright off at halftime at Sunderland he was shocking and the header wright missed near the end Simms would of buried it.

Simms would have buried it this season. Last season I’m not so sure…

A great first season considering he was 22 (I think), followed by an admittedly disappointing second season and people gave him dogs abuse. But anyone with half a brain always knew he was an effective centre forward at this level.
