One thing that is apparent from our transfer strategy is we are buying players we can make a 10 x profit plus on – which is needed to survive and thrive in this league. Better to develop our own for the shop window, rather than loan players from other clubs.

It feels like for the past 20 years we've sold our best players too early or too cheaply for a top-line price of £3m and no more, whereas other clubs have managed to make £20m on players. Be nice to do that for a change and re-invest.

Even the 2 loan players we've got in – their contracts expire next summer. Shrewd dealings by the club – very positive.

I absolutely love this club's policy which seems to be recruit almost every player under 25, ofcourse we have exceptions... But financially extremely sensible

It does seem that we're following the Brentford model - which for the club has generated substantial earnings from transfers over the past five years, believed to be around £120m.

It's certainly a breath of fresh air when compared to our so-called previous 'transfer policies' in the past. If you can even call them that.

I think it has been the desired policy for a long time, just they've not bothered to think about what you'd need to implement it.

Delighted with this, seems we’re pretty much all set with over a week til first game, some teams in our league haven’t even made a signing yet, bodes well.

No doubt if he’d posted it then you’d have probably been on here calling it clickbait

Very weird how keen so many are to slag off a young City fan very inoffensively doing his job.

Ironically, it's the original Ranson transfer policy weirdly: buy the best from L1 and develop them in the Championship. Execpt we only seemed to do it with WEstwood Dann and Fox then forgot all about it.

It's kinda sad. The guy has been excellent, obviously will have contacts from his time working for the club as well as a network of local journalists around the country, yet there's this ridiculous meme he just reposts stuff from here.

So with Sheaf signing soon (by the looks of it) does that still mean he is a money grabbing bastard and can fuck off... (according to some of our fans comments in the last few weeks?)

So: assuming this is done. If Callum Wilson goes for £30m tomorrow and we get £3-4m to spend. Where would people spend it?

I honestly can't identify a position. Maybe a young keeper but that's not £4m worth. I'd be tempted to say pay the bills and/or save it for the future. When was the last time you could say that about a CCFC squad? I honestly can't remember it in my lifetime.

I'd agreed and say save it until at least Jan and then reassess from there. We've got a big enough squad and have players for every position. No point spending money for the sake of it.

Still without a club isn't he? I was googling him yesterday and only seen him linked with L1 teams, is he good enough?

Would £3-4m cover the cost of cloning a mirror image of Dabo to play at LWB?

Yeah LWB is probably the next spot isn't it? I do think Giles will do well this year and be more of a threat than McCallum was.
