Hell no.. you are not saying ‘Premiership’ in our first matchday thread back
The things people get precious about is mental!

3 outcomes for me. Battered 4/5-0, scare the life out of them going in front but end up losing 2-1 or we somehow get a draw against a rusty Arsenal

What do we think?
I think we will do well, I know we don't attach much significance on pre season friendlies but Arsenal have look poor in theirs. Weak at the back and ponderous up front, they are especially susceptible to counter attacks.

That said they have their English and Spanish players back from the world cup can only help but you have to think they won't be fully up to speed.

He was blatantly joking though - I think you're being precious more like

100% having Arsenal and Manchester City away in the first few weeks gives us a tiny bit more of a chance of catching them cold rather than midway through the season.
The best time to play Man City will be mid-season during the annual Maresca slump.

Had a dream last night we opened the season up by going 2-0 up in just 9 minutes! Bta and yerinki. Gary neville was saying how dangerous we looked on Co comms. We ended up winning 3-0

Only problem is that we were away to bournemouth not arsenal lol

For anyone who plays golf I guess you can equate our first 2 away games as playing stroke indexes 1 & 2 at the start of the round and getting anything from them will be a bonus with easier holes to follow.

Still pinching myself this is even happening in all honesty and I genuinely do not think the neutrals watching at home will watch the game and at the end of it think “there is no way these two should be sharing a pitch”

I think we will be valiant losers - 2-0 Arsenal

Alex I watch your blog for the Monaco game, you did look smart, but do you not possess a tie 🤣

For those who didn't see it, Alex and friends joined the Prawn sandwich brigade in the Watchmakers Lounge.

I noticed you mentioned the noise coming from singer's corner and the east stand and that's with an Half Empty Stadium, sitting in the West Stand the noise is a lot louder. 🔊

This is funny. Here's the theme song from the tiny kids show Topsy & Tim

Now tell me that Arsenal didn't copy it for their contrived North London Forever anthem

How about we sing the topsy and tim at them?

What if you don’t play golf?

Anyone know of the away fan pubs? Set to get into either Arsenal or Finsbury Park early to miss the Friday night rush hour so will have a couple of hours to kill.

This is a photo from our first home game of the season 10 years ago, the ill fated 2016/17 season - probably one of the worst of my Cov supporting life.

Absolute madness to think of our transformation in that time and we’re now opening the season away to Arsenal, having spent ~£170M.

We’re coming away with a score draw.IMG_2463.webp

Looking forward to avenging the 4-0 defeat in the FA cup - my lasting memory was the lights failing and everyone turning on their phones until they came back on - should have been abandoned we hardly touched the ball all game

It's either going to be a welcome to the big boys league, 4 or 5 nil or we get something from the game, catch them flat footed/over confident and it's been a short summer for most of their team.

I just hope we go 1 up because it's been months since i've fell about in a football ground.

We can't be messing.
We need 10 wins & 10 draws.

I guarantee Dasilva and Simms start. I think we will favour continuity for the first couple of games whilst we bed the likes of the new strikers, Hamer or any potential new left back in

A good time to play them. Start of the season before they're settled in for the season. Some injuries/knocks especially in defence.

Heart says draw. Head says we play better than most think we will considering we're 16/1 for the win. Expecting a close defeat but with respect from many because of the way we play.

Not won on opening day for a while (Fadz last min winner).

I expect our occasional Div 1 / Prem start of 3 wins from 3 and being top of the league!
