I don't see the Rudi links with Newcastle, were talking about a team with the best striker in the country and 2 of the best midfielders, coming off the back of their best season in Donkeys years. I love Rudi & don't think its an outrageous shout he wins POTY for the championship next year, but I would imagine they would be shopping in a different market off the back of champions league qualification.

Don't think Rudi would want to go to Newcastle - considering how limited his minutes would be. He'll know a full season of development under Lampard will give him a better chance of a proper Prem career

The only 3 teams who could afford him & he'd get minutes at are Palace, Leeds, and Burnley I think

Eddie Howe has already said they can’t spend due to PSR rules so they haven’t got £20-25M to get Rudi.

Eddie Howe has lied. Newcastle are in a very strong position in the transfer window. They spent <£70m and sold >£95m, mostly homegrown as well, last year, plus they now have champions league revenue to offset signings. Newcastle will be busy this summer. No certain Rudi will be a top target as we'll want >£25m and they need a RW and a CB more pressingly.

We seem to have a lot of academy products who go out on loan and then just move on. You have to assume they aren’t good enough. Our youth set up hasn’t produced anything in years now.

They develop footballers. We have produced loads who are playing at a professional level. As we go up the leagues it is harder for them to break through into our first team. Players playing for the likes of Shrewsbury, Burton, Northampton or even Leamington is not a disaster.

How many players have broken through into the Chelsea, Man City or Man United first teams in recent years and they have far more youngsters on their books.

Sheff Utd will be after around £20m for Gus and if they want Rudi we'll take al of that fee of them plus some more. Whereas Gus moving to them it was clearly a step up, Rudi would only be moving for O'hare reason$.

I would be very surprised if Rudoni leaves. Most of our decent players over the last few years have hung around for at least 2 seasons. It's clear that he loves working with Lampard and I think he'll persuade him to stay for one more season before cashing in. If he has a full season like the second half of this one, his value will be much higher.

No championship team has paid 20m+ for a player - it does not and will not happen this summer either, basically ruling out any team in this league

Leeds got 100m+ last summer from sales and still didn't do it. Will only change if the Saudi's join the party I imagine

League one Birmingham paid 20 million for Stanfield though tbf... I don't see sheff united doing it but it's not out of the realms of possibility that a championship team could pay that this summer for a player

We will not be bullied in the market anymore, we have improved so much to a point where moving within the league is not really a step up for our better players. Yes we may struggle if a prem club comes knocking but that comes down to the individual on what matters more to them. As a club we will not be cheap or not replace with better quality and have money spare.

We will be smart again and be a play off team next season. We are growing and developing in every aspect, in my opinion we will improve again and bring in a mixture of players that will allow us to go one step further. FL will bring in leaders, old heads and young exciting players to mold around our current squad.

Lots of wheeling and dealing but FL will use his name to attract some good talent. Good times a head enjoy the journey, id say.

Curiosity question - if there were any players on another clubs released lists that we wanted, can they be signed before Sunday or do we have to wait? I am guessing not as Plymouth have signed Paterson. In which case, its unlikely we are in for anyone that has been released I guess?

It is a disaster. You don’t fund an academy for them to go on a free to another lower club. You fund it to create a pipeline of talent into your first team, some of which you keep some you sell for a fee.

You can sign out of contract players but their contracts officially end on 01/07

Next week you may get the answer to if we had any interest in anyone from Plymouth, Cardiff, Luton, Leicester, Southampton or Ipswich. I would be shocked if we don't see a couple of signings, just not sure it will be from any of those clubs.

Cedric Kipre has just been relegated with Reims from the French top flight. Always looked an absolute powerhouse at the back every time I’ve watched him and something different to Binks and Lati at the back. Was in incredible form at WBA and knows the league in side out, plus at 28 still a great age for a centre back not a rumour but someone I’d personally like.
I don't know the bloke (and am always astonished how much football some of you guys must watch to know so much about other players, or claim to know at least), but this profile is exactly what we are looking for. In fact it should be number one priority along with left back and and a back up or replacement for MVE. Basically a new McFadz. Almost all our problems are in defence

I think we need a striker more importantly.
