Match Thread Exeter City (a) 29th July

Someone with Simms. We brought Simms in as our main goalscorer, but I think we have a better chance of him succeeding if we have a decent strike partner with him. Agreed Simms is not the same style as vik and won't create as many chances and goals by his own hard work as vik did. We're going to...

Simms wasn't any better today I agree, but he's clearly going to be our starting striker this season. I think to get the best out of Simms we need someone else in there with him.

Main takeaways from the game for me, Hamer is essential, offers something no one else does. Need to find a strike partner for Simms, can't fault goddens effort but he's not at the level we require to start for a top 6 push. Playing the ball out from the back, risky business. We were put under...

    Retained List

I think the club made the right call with releasing all of them. I do feel sorry for dabo, the injuries really set him back. Going to be a massive rebuild now thsi summer, something to look forward to!

    Hamer post match comments

With the amount of turnover and gaps we are going to have to fill this summer, I would risk hamer running down his contract to keep him next season. He is so important to our game plan and would be massive boost if stayed. Yes he could get injured etc but for me the rewards outweigh the risk...

    Reasons to be positive

Sell vik for big money, keep hamer. Yes big risk we lose him for nothing at end of next season but he could be the driving force to help us go up. The rewards outweigh the risk of losing him on free for me. If Robins got even 15mil back from vik sale to invest and we keep hamer, that's the way...

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

Weve still got Robins and viveash which is key. O hare hopefully back flying and worst case scenario we lose vik and gus but at a minimum we should have 30mil for both of them. Robins hasnt had much more than a million each season to work with. Lots of dead wood gone, wages freed up, money to...

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

At the start of the season I was excited because a lot of the dead wood were out of contract. I was hoping vik might score 15 goals or so so we could get maybe 15mil for him and try do a bit of a rebuild. We went ad smashed that and are now in a situation where we coudl pull in over 30mil in...

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

I think with the vultures circuling for vik we might pull in close to 30mil. If that transpires hold out on keeping gus and all others. If we can improve the loan signings, stenghten the sqaud and replace vik as best we can I think no reason we can't push on again.

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

Gyokeres and hamer both have a year left on their contracts if I'm not mistaken, so we possibly could take the risk of rejecting all offers for both of them. Big gamble I know but can we replace them even with 30mil? I think we'll lose gyokeres as the offers that come in will be too good to turn...

    Be proud of them anyway

We've lost but my god what a season. The joys I have experienced. Can I ask all ccfc fans to make it our business to sell out the first home game of next season! This is only the beginning of our journey. PUSB

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

Ah man what a way to lose. I do not agree Luton were the better team a couple of hoofed balls doesn't mean you were the better team, they were better team for maybe 30 mins but we were much better the rest of the game. Hamer injury was the difference I feel, palmer should have stayed on to take...

Can't fault that performance. Solid, no messing win. You'd have expected some nerves but it didn't appear the occasion got to anyone. Pity Sunderland equalised but on to the next one and seal that playoff place! Magic times!

    Carlton Morris dive

I think I'd prefer him to be available against Blackburn, take another dive, score another winning peno and then be banned for 3 games!!!
