I swear it must be almost every match thread he's on the bench that someone suggests it. It's like teams actually find it impossible to defend against a striker with pace ("Play him in behind! They're playing a high line!! Tired legs!!!"). But we just mysteriously refuse to try it every time...

He's really not very good - what does he actually do well? He's supposed to be a good character to have in the dressing room at least. I think his current spell in the team (and our resulting form) shows why it's rarely necessary for a team like us to spend big money on a keeper.

I mean, sure. Given the scale of the rebuild we have to do next summer, I think it would have been prudent to cash in on at least one of those players at peak value and get the work started on that sooner, but the window for that has gone now. I think we’re in a world of trouble with squad...
