The fans start calling for the managers head......

IMO there's nothing wrong with that if the manager is not up to the task. It's not always about expecting the manager to lead a team into the playoffs/European spots/cup runs; it can just be wanting them to extract the most they can out of the resources they have available. It is a fair...

    Thorn if sacked???

I think way too many people undervalue the prestige of CCFC. I'm certainly not saying that as a rose-tinted fanboy. The fact is that the club offers one of the top 50 managerial positions in the country (tho probably top 70 by the end of 2012). Think about all the coaches, lower-league...

The fans start calling for the managers head......

If we hadn't fired some of those managers when we did, then there's the real possibility that we would have been relegated long before 2012. The 'gain' we look for on most occasions is to simply stay within the division.

    The bigger picture...

Get real. Everybody knows that AT has little to work with. That does not mean that he is beyond criticism for poor tactics, failure to extract every bead of sweat from his soldiers, or his dodgy assessment of most games. There is no harm in trying a different manager to at least see if...

SCONSET now own us.. could this pantomime get any worse? or are we about to sell???

I thought the way it worked was that SISU, as a hedge fund, doesn't provide the funding from its own bank vault, but from a mutual pot that was funded by multiple investors, which would make SISU a glorified middle man. If the club is a loss-maker then surely it is ownership that is investing...

    Simple question for AT supporters...

Like pretty much every other club in the history of football. It's not wrong to sack a failing manager.

The problem here is that it doesn't necessarily boost our chances of being sold. Investors tend to want a vehicle with potential, not a complete refurbishment job as City would be (big liability, low attendances, no stadium, few playing assets, League 1, etc). SISU themselves preferred to get...

    Simple question for AT supporters...

Why isn't Rioch credible? If anything, he's the personification of a credible candidate - no financial issues, existing relationships with the players, a track record of success in coaching, and more managerial experience than Thorn ever had. If he fails, then like any manager he must be changed.

    Simple question for AT supporters...

Sure. I'd be willing to try Gregor Rioch, who has had considerable success with the academy, and managed and nurtured many of the young lads in the squad. He's already on the club payroll, so money shouldn't be an issue. Even Carsley if not Rioch.

Agreed. SISU should have done one of two things: 1. Invest in the side to boost growth. 2. Work extremely hard on the community to fill out the stadium each week. They've done neither and that's their fault. I'm just concerned that a siege strategy will hurt us more than it hurts them.

Andy Thorn: This is the worst period of my career.

Annoyingly, you're going to be written off as a Leicester troll rather than as a detached, objective outsider who might actually be worth listening to.

    Simple question for AT supporters...

I'm dubious about a player-supported manager necessarily being a good thing - I certainly wouldn't use it as a reason to keep a manager on. And maximum effort every game should be the number one qualification for a good manager IMO.

Crowds have already dwindled, and SISU have already racked up a ton of debts...and despite this they are looking for investment, not a sale of the club - which implies they can continue running the show. If that is the case, then trying to starve them out just hurts us, the fans - poorer...

    Simple question for AT supporters...

What do you think of the argument that says that a supportive dressing room isn't always a good thing, as in they may see their manager as a soft touch and are resistant to any change? Also, considering the strenuousness seen during the West Ham match, would you say that the team isn't giving...

    Simple question for AT supporters...

That's the nature of a forum. I'm not exactly crazy about the thousands of SISU threads, but...it's an open forum. There is nothing condescending about the question. Look, I've been following CCFC for 25 years and in that time I have never seen this kind of unconditional support for a manager...

    Simple question for AT supporters...

    1. I've barely started any threads. 2. Please point out the condescending egotism in this thread. I'm just trying to engage in a more clarified debate. Nonleagueherewecome and myself pretty much disagree on everything, but at least he entered the thread in the right spirit. If we're...

There are two sides to every story. Those who attend may very well be viewing a bigger picture, just a different one to yourself. I don't think there's anything particularly controversial about wanting to financially support the club which is still just one tier away from the Premiership. If...
