Yes quite different now. Their manager hadn’t bedded in at that time and James Beadle, probably their standout player at the time, got recalled by Brighton to be sent out on loan to Sheff Wed. We were in better form then too.

Lati and JDS are in the same boat for me. They were recruited with a back 5 in mind. Outside that system I just don’t think they fit in apart from as back up and in the case of JDS, as an impact sub. I struggle to see Lati anywhere. He’s fairly good as a CB in a back 3 but I’m not at all...

    Summer transfer window 2024

The ideal is like, say, Callum Doyle who had a season in L1 with Sunderland before stepping up to the champ with us as a loanee.

Now imagine that spoken their farmer accent and it sounds even more ridiculous. i actually think Oxford will be ok this season but this bloke’s already drunk “6 more points” than anyone else.

Was Roland Nilsson our best ever Right Back ?

Really tough choice. I’d just about go for Borrows because he was a total legend and a beacon of quality when we didn’t always have much. We had him throughout his prime and into a long Indian summer. Unfortunately having contemporaries like Stevens, Parker and Dixon didn’t help him...

Match Thread Coventry City - Oxford Utd - Match Thread - Friday 16th Aug 8pm KO

I doubt that Kitching and Binks will play together. Not saying it definitely couldn’t work but there’s very few successful pairings of 2 left footed CBs working in the pro-game.

Match Thread Bristol City FC - Coventry City [LC] Match Thread - Tuesday 13th Aug

Still not brilliant but a win’s a win. Thought Kitching did well. Looked sharper. Right place right time (mostly) and when there was something on, some good forward passes.

Thomas has played ok apart from two really suicidal passes. Torp looked ok for a bit but then has looked like he doesn’t want the ball at times. Palmer has been Palmer. Lati has looked ok. Overall better than Stoke but still flat.

    Transfer Rumour Bobby Clark

Sheaf and Eccles, fit and on form, have enough aggression to have dealt with that Stoke midfield. I see what Robins did as a gamble that failed. He thought it would be ok and that Allen’s energy and Torp’s passing would be enough. We all saw the result of that. We need a player who can drop...

    Elon Musk

Indeed. It reminds me of the quote from the president of the Heritage Foundation, Kevin Roberts. He was talking about plans to remove thousands of neutral Federal government officials and install partisan replacements chosen by the Republicans (in the event they win) as part of Project 2025...

    Elon Musk

I’m pretty sure his motivation is to draw false equivalence between the U.K. and the U.S. There’s a fair amount of civil war talk over there. He’s trying to say if you elect a left or left of centre government, look what happens.

    Summer transfer window 2024

Bobby Clarke’s a good enough rumour but Bajcetic would be insane in the championship imo.

    Summer transfer window 2024

Would be happy with BNC. Looked very raw first few times I saw him. But by the time of play off semis, he looked totally at home.

Average squad and Bannan is old and doesn’t run. But they’re greater than the sum of their parts. Down to the manager mainly. They are in trouble if he gets poached.

    1 - 24

Definitely agree with that. Basically a mug’s game doing these predictions. Another unknown, particularly at the bottom is the impact of new managers. Let’s face it, quite a few managers are going to get whacked part way through the season. Others will get poached and the successor could...

    Are we being “hyped”?

Yeah that’s pretty embarrassing. Lack of awareness about the current state of Hull and WBA. Also at the bottom end where Blackburn, just one example, have got more to worry about than Portsmouth. Typical of some big newspapers and the state of their coverage and knowledge of the EFL these days...
