Wasps bid for Ricoh Arena valued at £30million

Can't believe people are stupid enough to think it will mean SISU will leave. In fact they are more likely to become entrenched.

Council could vote on Ricoh takeover as early as Tuesday

If you actually bothered to read any of my posts you would know I said that ACL as a business was not viable without the football club. So if the club owned both there is potential to make plenty of money -there will now be an extra 250,000 visitors a year due to the return of the club.

Council could vote on Ricoh takeover as early as Tuesday

Taking the SISU factor out of it for one second, the club does not have the funds or assets to buy anything, nevermind a stadium or a controlling stake in ACL. So the stadium/lease/whatever would be owned by a 'different' company. Personally I believe that if the owners were to take control of...

    Fan ownership will never work

Neither situation is comparable to ours... but both are cautionary tales. Rushden & Diamonds were given the ground for free pretty much and still managed to go bust because amongst other things they didn't have the finance to run the club on a day to day basis. This is the key point....

    Fan ownership will never work

For every Pompey, you have a Rushden & Diamonds or Ebbsfleet.

Baker may sign for Milton Keynes

He might not be a brilliant player but he is better than most of the midfielders we have on our books with the exception of O'Brien and Fleck.. both of which do not contribute goals like he has in the past.

    Player sponsorship

Perhaps sponsorship amount should be relative to ability.... So I propose 85p and a Twix for Conor Thomas :D

Wasps takeover bid could be agreed in private

I think some people's reaction to the news has been a surprise. Ultimately we are just talking about things that could potentially happen, but the perceived (not necessarily the case) viewpoint is that ACL are OK in trying to sell off the long term lease of the Ricoh. As such we COULD become...

Wasps takeover bid could be agreed in private

Amazing.... you couldn't dismiss this comment any quicker if you tried.... YET when Fisher mentioned the word liquidation in an interview as something that could potentially happen given the financial position you and everyone else goes into meltdown as if the words were handed down to us by...

Wasps takeover bid could be agreed in private

I believe it was said at a fans forum where he was pushed about the club owning the stadium. He said that 'technically' the club would not own the stadium, it would be in the hands of a holding company - a subsidiary of the club or something to that effect. Not sure if there is a link anywhere...

Wasps takeover bid could be agreed in private

I seem to remember Fisher quite clearly setting out that was how the detail would be when asked about who would own the ground. Obviously as he didn't mention the term 'liquidation' in the sentence you automatically dismissed it as rubbish.

Wasps takeover bid could be agreed in private

He refused access to councillors individual notes.

Wasps takeover bid could be agreed in private

There is a significant amount of clubs where the ground is owned by a 'holding' company, not actually by the club itself - a notable one being Arsenal. This is what would happen in our case most likely. It is a moot point.

OK then... where are they? Has anyone ever seen them??

Spending £14m wasn't worthy of some minutes either.

    Sale v long-term lease

I think that the club needs to 'control' everything that goes on at the Ricoh complex. To me it would seem the best way to do this is to purchase ACL.

    Opinion of CET

CCFC is technically a business. However as it is a football club it has an emotive tie with it's fans, history, the city etc. No one is in dispute of that. When ACL/CCC/Higgs bought into the club... whether they like it or not they also bought into that.

    Opinion of CET

More diatribe of how amazing ACL are.... Why don't we just fold CCFC, and restart with ACL Utd and then all the hero worshipping can be put to a more effective use.

Cov RFC do NOT want a merger with Wasps
