Match Thread Coventry City v Manchester United - FA Cup Semi-Final

The arrogance of Man U throughout the match. For an hour we let them stroll around with f*cking Harry McGuire trying to be the playmaker. Then something clicked. proud of the boys today. Can’t help but feel if Palmer had been playing we win that match. All I wanted was us to run them close. We...

    Wembley team last time

Thomas & Kitching both better than McNally in my opinion. They are still a little naive, but are pure defenders. McNally could get bullied and his distribution wasn't great. Doyle was a fine player, but Man City aren't ready to sell, so he was never going to be a long term target. MVE miles...

    United v Cov Predictions

I know. Feel sorry for Dasilva. He was decent at LWB earlier in the season, but is not a LB, or LWF, and that's where he's been played for the last 4 months. His lack of adaptability is an issue. Eccles, MVE, Lati & Bidwell can all play in different positions, and at a reasonable standard

    United v Cov Predictions

If he plays MVE at right back, with Eccles & Sheaf in midfield then I’m more confident. With Palmer out though, we surely won’t play 4-2-1-3, unless he throws Tavares in. . I think he’ll play it safe, possibly Da Silva at LM , Lati RB, MVE at RM, with O’Hare behind Simms as the lone striker.

We can't be out fought in this game, as Blues will clearly be well up for it, and will start with intensity and fight you would think 2-1 to The Sky Blues, but it won't be pretty.

If as expected Soton will have the majority of the possession, and our game will be based on quick counter attacks, then Lati could be useful at DM. Wouldn't surprise me to see MVE pushed forward, with Lati in at RB.

Kitching has been a fantastic signing. Tough CB with a nasty streak, something we have needed for a long time. Fadz was a great leader, but he didn't have that nasty side to his game. None of our recent CBs have either (Rose, McNally, Doyle, Binks, Thomas, Lati) - The first OG on Monday was a...

    Callum O'Hare Replacement

Still think that O'Hare hasn't made a decision. If we don't go up this season (which is more than likely), he probably will be off, but you never know. We really should of laid down a contract for him last summer, if only a 1 year extension. He would of signed that. He should get a run in...

I'd play Palmer wide right, and slot O'Hare in the No10. role. Sheaf and Torp to start in the middle. MVE back to right back. Attack minded, but we have to go for it

Match Thread Coventry City - Cardiff City Match Thread - Monday 1st Apr

we needed a proper physical, tall DM in there today, Cardiff were making countless panicked clearances , that their players got on the end of. We sorted that out by the end of the game but were already 2-1 down by then. Need that DM to play alongside Sheaf / Torp. First on the shopping list...

Match Thread Coventry City - Cardiff City Match Thread - Monday 1st Apr

Palmer was poor after our goal but he was involved in that goal, and was playing some blinding balls behind their defence prior to that. Cardiff switched something after we scored and we were pretty crap from there on in. Tavares is a centre forward, don’t bring him on at right wing. Waste...

    Callum O'Hare

Could it be that he’s just hit a bad run of form (surely to be expected after 10-11 months injured). Add to that Palmer playing the best football of his career. I’d bet he still hasn’t decided what to do.

    Callum O'Hare

How many games has he started since Leicester at home in January ? Palmer has been excellent recently, and it could be a case of the player in for Keeping the shirt. I do think his general demeanour seems a little different though

All our goals were excellent, but Jesus we were sloppy, especially after the 2nd goal. Palmer was outstanding 1st half. As he was at Wolves. Huddersfield didn’t deserve a draw but we only just deserved the win

They got rid as he wasn’t a “name”. Barely played top flight football in his career. Of course that means nothing in becoming a brilliant coach. Would just prefer these sort of articles didn’t appear. Let’s quietly keep improving. When we go up, I think Robins / Viveash will keep us there.

Have watched his previous 2 long interviews on YouTube. Really impressed. You can see why players react to him, has a real presence and charisma about him. Some of the football we've played over the last few years at times has been electrifying. When we have had to change our approach like the...

Same X1 that started at Wolves. Decent Bench with O’Hare, Torp, Dasilva, Godden and hopefully Jamie Allen back. 3-0 win. That Wolves win will reignite this team.

Be interesting to see what happens to Man City....Relegation to League 2 would be great, and a huge fine.

    Ellis simms - level headed

Ellis Simms is a cool character. Not that he plays that way, but his celebrations are usually muted. When he misses a chance, he almost looks the same as when he scores a goal! Love it. However, his joy at his equalizer, on Saturday and even more so for Hadji's winner, was brilliant to see...
