Did he want Fleck and Vincelot to go? Or was he forced to let them go from the budget reduction?
We don't know.
I just see a succession of managers, some of whom have had success elsewhere, being absolutely rubbish when they come to us.
My point is that we are in a worse position now than we were when both of those were appointed. They have come and gone and we just keep going down.
Robins left when he had temporarily improved us. Our downward trend continued.
TM might have gone when he was in a good position. I bet he wishes...
For once I have to side with those who are optimistic. We have a great record against Sheff Utd, and this is exactly the type of game where things do not go to plan for the favourites.
2-1
As has been said - maybe they hoped to get championship players on loan - with the parent club paying most of the wages. Maybe the clubs didn't want to play ball on that idea which is why it failed to bear fruit.
He might have been forced to take the job. Employers can put tremendous pressure on people to do things they don't really want to do.
The fact he hasn't resigned suggests to me he feels obliged to stay for some reason.
No doubt something will have to give very soon. We could see TF picking the...
Nick I don't think you can take what people say literally. Especially for publicity purposes. Just like I don't believe TMs assertion that the budget is only slightly less than last years. He was bound to say that. MV may not have been so bullish about the job in private.
It is highly unlikely any manager can turn this team round. It needs a massive overhaul but SISU are not going to provide any funds to do it. They won't even fund a new manager which is why Venus can't jack it in.
Wasn't Venus brought in by Mowbray. Why did he stay on when TM left? It can only have been because he thought he could do better than TM with the squad we have.
So now he realises they really aren't good enough. Hence he is angry with himself.
Can't feel sorry for either of them.
I cannot see any manager making any difference whatsoever. The club is rotten to the core and everyone who works there must be dispirited. There must be a dreadful working atmosphere that stinks the place out. The club needs re-invigorating from the top to provide at the very least - a sense of...
Yes I think you can tell a lot from how players approach the warm-up. They are effectively at work and so should be taking it just as seriously as any other training session and doing a professional job. It doesn't have to be un-enjoyable but it does have to be focused.
In previous seasons when we were relegated you could tell straight away that it was going to be a long hard season. Do people get that feeling now?
Or is it just a matter of the players gelling and getting their first win?
Clearly there is a lot further to fall yet.
I would have more confidence if The club's owners came out and said - we are going to develop a young squad over several seasons - and stuck to it. You can't do that will a load of loanees and short term fixes. I'm not sure what the plan is - apart...
