    Ricoh Return

I should add to the above... We need to get back to the Ricoh for now. Whatever it's faults, being away from the city is damaging the club. However by the same token, we shouldn't go back "at any cost"

    Ricoh Return

I've never really got the "it's too far from the centre" or the "no pubs" comments. It's close (albeit on the edge) of some CCFC heartlands... Foleshill, Holbrooks, Bedworth, Longford. And there are enough pubs in walking distance, more than a lot of grounds. However i accept it isn't as...

    Todays games

Well, we are through our run of very tough fixtures, and not in the bottom three as many suggested, in fact we are probably doing a lot better than anyone expected. We do need to replicate this situation from earlier in the season, and up the points-per-game ratio over the next 5 or 6.

Ran a mile flat out time-trial this morning. 5:21 Previous best was 5:23 which i was in a proper track race, so a couple of seconds faster in non-race conditions i'm pretty happy with. I reckon i could get a bit nearer to 5:10 in a competitive race on the track.

    Feb 27th 1999

I remember the 4-1 game... it was not far off being the peak i've what i've seen watching City. The 1-0 in the cup the year before, we deserved, but it was between two closely matched teams. But the 4-1 we really were the best team in the Midlands. Dublin took some awful stick off the City...

    Match Thread Swansea

Sounds bad, but genuinely don't mind what happens as long as Sheff Weds don't win. And would take a draw now in any circumstances.

    Ricoh Return

I often run round past the Ricoh, and to be honest it looks like a stadium that has seen better days, and definitely not a "new" stadium. Ok i understand it is something like 15 years old now, but it certainly hasn't aged well in that time.

    Will we stay up ?

Even the Brentford result was based on very small margins... The penalty could easily (and probably should) have been saved... and then who knows, but i suspect without that good fortune it's reasonable to assume we may well have got no more than a point out of that game. Small margins...

CrawleySkyBlue i bet you would be able to post a decent time on a 3000mtr track race. Given the one-off effort and race conditions, i'd guess you wouldn't be far off 10mins. This morning for me it was 6 x 800mtr efforts in Bedworth Park. Wasn't expecting much time-wise given the swirling wind...

At work, first time Down here in years

Binley Oak is gone. Brewer & Baker gone. Can't remember if Foresters is still there (i ran past there a few weeks back). It really is desolate and run down, and the flats on the site of the ground have done nothing to help.

    Maddison tweet

I was gutted Villa didn't get relegated last year... but on the other hand, we've waited 20 years, so imagine then not being able to attend, it would have been such a disappointment. As for Leicester... we can bitch about them if we like... but fair play to them, and i'd sooner see them...

    Referee Analysis Brentford

I personally thought the penalty was rather soft.... Biamou was going away from goal, the defender was unlucky to get there a split-second late. That said, it would have been a free-kick anywhere else on the pitch, so i suppose it was the correct decision. But no doubt we benefited greatly...

    O'Hare

I said earlier that if he could just refine his decision making when he gets in advanced positions, he'd be fantastic... although that would mean he probably wouldn't be playing for us!

    Good news for Cov?

The Canal is already an adequate "green route" to the centre tbf... yeas it's a bit run-down in places scenically, but gets plenty of traffic, i run on it a lot and there's a lot of people use it. It's being upgraded currently, and pretty much now all hard surface all the way out to the Greyhound.

I tend to agree... i did say "in an ideal world"!

    Good news for Cov?

In an ideal world i'd like to see the Canal Basin re-invigorated and become the "arts hub"..... and i wonder if the Ikea area would be of sufficient size to become a higher-end retail centre like Highcross Leicester/Bullring? Whether there is the appeal to higher end stores i'm not sure.

    Running

I've entered a road half-marathon in October, my first ever (i can count the number of road races i've done on one hand, with the exception of the Midlands and National Road Relays for Godiva, and of course numerous parkruns). Although it's in the Lake District and has 1700ft of climbing, so...
