Personally I'd prefer the loan option. 6 months with a view to extending depending on performance / how able Dovin is to return into the fold. On reflection I really don't think it's overly pragmatic to be saddled with yet another permanent GK on our books really if we're unable to move Collins on.

I do agree. Unless we're in a miraculous position that sees Dovin coming back early, the club needs to set aside extra budget for a GK this season. Will help if we can move Collins on - which is far easier said than done.
