    City of Culture Bid

You missed my point, its the posters stating that Coventry is a shit place and doesn't deserve the award.

    City of Culture Bid

Nick, you are preaching to the converted. The BID is the point and Coventry City are not sexy in terms of the bid-fact.

    City of Culture Bid

I understand what you are saying and believe me I wish things were different but I can also get why you would exclude us from such a bid. If you were to read this thread and were on the awarding panel you would steer clear of this city. That is our what our fellow coventrians think of the city...

    City of Culture Bid

All your points are valid. None change the optics that our club is irrelevant in the context of this bid. By the way even here in KSA the piss is taken when we lose to these clubs but as I point out to them we are now one of those clubs.

    City of Culture Bid

Really Ian1779? You think that Coventry City have a great story to tell? You equate our impact with that of the Beatles? Blinkers off and as much as I love my club and indeed the city of my upbringing I can't say that it is a big selling point for such a bid.

    City of Culture Bid

Wont dispute that Chiefdave! but if you were sell your home you wouldn't highlight your dry rot, damp or subsidence. This is not a quiz, it's a bid. 15 years ago a bid that would may not have highlighted JLR or diverse ethnic population. Times change and we are not relevant at the moment.

    City of Culture Bid

I saw the video the other week and actually was impressed with the multi cultural content, the people on it spoke of what Coventry has given them from refugees to a Chinese jaguar Land Rover designer but the Coventry City omission was not on my radar. I will tell you why! It's a sales video to...

    In my 65 years ......

We lost to a Yeovil side that all were tonking, we lost to FGR who were bottom and we beat Exeter, Swindon and Notts County. Since the first game Jones has scored once, McNulty the same and the rest except Nazon have scored zero. We can't break down teams that sit back and we have no plan B...

    Chris Kirkland article

I salute you, Astute, like Stevefloyd you have exposed yourself and shared. We are not indestructiblle and we are vulnerable. Somehow it is much easier to have an illness or disease than admit to a mental issue. It's not ours but to anybody on here with an issue you'll never walk alone.

    Chris Kirkland article

We are not machines and we are vulnerable, however we perceive ourself. When bad things come knocking we are not immune. Your strength is not exposing your weakness but facing up to it. I expect all will be liable to depression or being down, however you want to put it, and coming out the other...

    29 minutes from Wembley

Yes it does and how we made a profit on it!

    29 minutes from Wembley

Yes but that's just a part of it, it goes through Gordon Milne's time as boss culminating in 80-81 season. It deals with the Coventry Talbot farce and the players who doubled up in America and for Coventry.

    29 minutes from Wembley

i would heartily recommend anybody with our club in their blood to read the new book 29 minutes from Wembley. It was part of my life, now it's history, it is a good read and to see the affection for the Sky Blues by those players is wonderful. Ian Wallace and Tommy Hutchison not only did you...

    Booing of team... some thoughts

I am torn on this subject, IMO fans shouldn't be passive and let the team(any team) get away with lack of effort. We have the right to expect effort from players wearing our shirt and the right to express our displeasure when they fail to meet those basic standards. I was pleased the fans didn't...

What's the possibility of us being at The Butts next season?

There are some people who will moan about anything and everything. The Ricoh is a fine stadium, much better than HR(though I wished we never left there) It is not the stadium that is the problem, it is the club. From the issues at the first game til today everything has conspired against...

Plan B - Have we got one this year?

We have created chances, we are strong in defence, we are handily placed for a good season. All positive in my book! Now if we converted a higher percentage of the chances we made then promotion would be nailed on. I do worry that missing chances will harm us, Jones has scored once since the...

Match Thread Barnet - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 7th Oct

Poor game, lack of quality on both sides. Barnet were depleted and once again our defence was untroubled. Our forwards were disjointed. Not sure what the sub strategy was? Beavon stretched Crewe last week and lots of chances were created. The fans stayed with the team which was good to see.

Match Thread Barnet - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 7th Oct

On the train from Coventry, looking forward to the game before returning to Riyadh this evening. Couldn't have made it with a 3pm kick off so very happy with the start time. Hoping for a win with a decent margin! It was 1978 at Cov station this morning!
