The period between Jimmy Hill and Gordon Milne....

Another striker who did well elsewhere but failed with us. Great header of the ball, limited on the ground. Tony Hateley was alongside a similar player in Neil Martin and it just didn't work. Once Ernie Hunt and then John O'Rourke went up top with Martin we started to unlock defences.

The period between Jimmy Hill and Gordon Milne....

I am of the opinion that the biggest mistake our club has made (pre getting rid of HR and the road traveled since) was the disintegration of the early eighties side. I bring this up as Irish Sky Blue rightly mentions Carr and Mortimer in the post above and along with them you can include...

Potential new BCFC stadium at NEC for Commonwealth Games

And the NEC isn't closer to Cov City centre either. It was me who said it was and according to google it is 11.5 to Coventry City center and 14.4 to Birmingham city center. No apology necessary.

Mcgarry was managing Ipswich, left to join Wolves which left the vacancy for Bobby Robson to fill.

That's clear Skybluedan, what's not so clear is do you love Coventry City?

Potential new BCFC stadium at NEC for Commonwealth Games

Because like Man City they could end up with a world class facility for very little outlay. South Birmingham is their stronghold and although they are as attached to St. Andrews as we were to HR it may be a brilliant opportunity, just like it could be for us.

Potential new BCFC stadium at NEC for Commonwealth Games

Looking at google Coventry City centre is nearer to the NEC than birmingham city center. MetLife stadium in New York is double the distance from New York than NEC is from Coventry. 11 miles, if there is a chance to share then I say look at it and see if it's feasible.

The period between Jimmy Hill and Gordon Milne....

The reason it didn't happen was that Allison announced it to his club, players and the press and Robbins didn't do his business that way and backed away. Brian Clough was primed to join us but he used Robbins to get a better deal at Derby. Robbins wanted an up and coming manager rather than an...

The period between Jimmy Hill and Gordon Milne....

I want to disagree with you but on reflection I think you are spot on. Derby County won the league during his time and it could have been us. Derby came up the season after us and finished 4th in their first season in Division 1 and won it in 72 season. We were buying players at the same value...

    1950

My dad is now 87 and watched the City from the 1940's and he's said Hudson was the best player ever to play for the City. My dad used to say the same. He didn't understand why he was sold. He played against us in the cup in 68 and destroyed us in the replay. The reception he got at Highfield...

The period between Jimmy Hill and Gordon Milne....

67 was an anti climax with Hill leaving at the start of the season but such was his affection for the club he stayed on til October I believe when Cantwell took over. We stayed with the side that got promoted and were competitive but lacked quality, it didn't help that Curtis broke his leg in...

    1950

Ronnie Rees was a lovely winger, tricky feet and a decent goalscoring record. I was disappointed when we sold him to West Brom and we never really had a winger in his mould until Ray Graydon years later. Tommy was magnificent, go on YouTube and watch the greatest player ever in a Sky Blue...

    Should drugs be legalised?

What has the state policy of the Philippines got to do with Saudi Arabia? I could respond to you in kind but frankly it achieves nothing. Just like your argument on drugs, you are pissing in the wind and have nowhere to go.

    Should drugs be legalised?

Not if the state deems it legal, which in the Philippines is the case.

    Should drugs be legalised?

Point of order. They are not murdering people, its state policy, they are eradicating drug dealers.
