    Leicester

utd spent 250m and not even guaranteed top 5. mind you Villa spent over 40m this year and managed 16 pts. maybe some of these big sides need to look at employing the right managers rather than throwing cash at players.

    Leicester

it's an astonishing achievement. would rather it had been another "non-big" club that won it but it does have to be one of the biggest stories ever in football.

    Bassala Sambou

exactly. with the turnover of players these days 100 games for a club is a novelty. we have had a huge turnover of players over recent seasons. How many players now come in on 1yr -18 month contracts only? clubs like ours (in fact most outside the Premiership) rarely offer much more then a...

Plan b and dealing with opposition changes

stupid thing about Peterborough game was that they started to press the back four with 3 or 4 players and we still tried passing it sideways or even backwards deep in our own half. the pressure caused mistakes and took away all the momentum we had built up. at least start to look long so the...

    The Euros

only caveat is that Rooney has 26 goals in 36 games under Hodgson and 11 in 13 games as england captain.

    I'm no boxing expert but

end of round 7 or 8 you could clearly hear Sr telling jr he couldn't understand why the ref hadn't stopped the fight.

    Cherry Tree Club?

i do go back to the 70s and early 80s and remember teams like Man Utd, Arsenal, Leeds & West Ham bringing literally 100s of "hooligans" not these little groups of 10-15 that seem to be around these days.

    Cherry Tree Club?

it's the association between hooliganism and love of a club that is laughable.

    Chances created

yep. what was just as disappointing that when Peterborough changed their system and pressed the back 4 in particular we didn't change what we were doing. 2 key issues were backing off when they ran at us and even worse was the passing in defensive areas. far too often were passes in defensive...

    Peterborough Ratings

agree with most of this particularly Jones, Fortune & Bigi. only real issue is with Cole. being OOP on the left. always looks more effective when he is in the middle of the pitch. doesn't have the pace to be as effective out wide. also his limited pace did leave the defence exposed when...

    Peterborough Match Thread

Does make you question why we've gone for players like Fortune & Henderson - particularly when they seem to spend too much time outside the box and lack the pace and skill to make a difference from wider areas anyway.

what was poor was that we gifted them the goals & opportunities by not switching from playing the ball around the back tojust concentrating on clearing it. far too easy for their mids & striker to close us down at the back and force mistakes.

yep. giving away possession in poor areas. Someone else has got to get in the box - simple maths if you've got 3 or 4 players knocking it between themselves trying to get a cross in then you ain't going to have enough players in the box if the ball gets in there.

    Adam Johnson

Problem is Evans & Hughes should have had longer sentences rather than Johnson's being disproportionate.

    Cherry Tree Club?

yep. one of the great myths about these people was that they only fought like-minded individuals.

    Coventry Evening Telegraph.

yep. Also I'm curious as to how much cover the Northampton local press gave us when we were playing there:whistle:

    Richardson

again i think the 1.758m refers to 50% of the initial start up of ACL - check the ACL acounts 2003. Arena 2001 was voluntarily liquidated with no assets and with CCFC as the major creditor (5.2m). Would not surprise me in the least if CCFC under Richardson had blown a load of money on fees for...
