    Academy kicked out of Higgs

isn't this just part of the overall confusion about the way everything has been done over the last 18 months or so? The club had often been quoted as wanting to include new academy facilities in the new stadium plans. Wouldn't commit to more than a rolling 12 month contract after the...

    Academy kicked out of Higgs

it's not that big a surprise. The Higgs/SISU/CCFC has been strained at best for a long time particularly regarding the AEHC.

    Butts park arena?

wasn't there a deadline from the Football League (when we were first got permission to go to Northampton) in which to establish a "permanent" base? 8 years seems to stick in the memory.

    Butts park arena?

How does this potentially work? Each club keeps relevant matchday incomes and everything else is 50/50?

    Butts park arena?

emphasis was on wages. directors were pumping in loans to pay the wage bill in the 1st promotion season.

    Butts park arena?

no. Burnley's 1st promotion was a massive gamble on a huge wage bill. (Anyone remember Paul Fletcher!!). What they have done well is utilize subsequent parachute payments to fund a huge wage bill that couldn't be funded by stadium revenues alone.

    Butts park arena?

problem wasn't the capacity at HR. HR was ours. problem was leaving HR without having secured funding for the Ricoh. If we owned the Ricoh no-one would have issues with its capacity etc. or any other stadium-related issues. We could have spent the last 10 years bitching about crap hotdogs or...

    Butts park arena?

don't like using Bournemouth as an example as their success has nothing to do with gates or fanbase just a massive investment from owners into playing side. A wage bill of well over 30 million in their promotion season has nothing to do with ticket money, F&B or other stadium income.

    Butts park arena?

we've been told on many occasions (particularly during the rent dispute) that funding/investors were lined up for a new stadium if a location could be found.

Hasn't Sharp said the problem with going to 25k is that it would limit the commercial development of the rest of site? "We think 25,000 is the biggest we could fit there, but we would be looking at something significantly smaller to than that to allow space for further development of the ground...

    Mean while back in court

my issue with the charity thing is my recollection (possibly wrong) of PWKH coming on here from way back (pre-Wasps and possibly pre-admin) and talking about how Higgs shares were valued, who they could be sold to, ACL position etc. Doesn't seem to reconcile with how things panned out. A lot of...

    Mean while back in court

i'm with this. New stadium - yes or no. Stadium plans on hold still all legal avenues explored - yes or no. Compensation claims for the benefit of the owners or the football club? is it still all or nothing regarding Ricoh "ownership"?

Won't the latest proposed legal moves probably take us past the expiry date of the current rental agreement?

    Jodi Jones

it is seriously about time we started looking at longer contracts for key players or those they seriously intend to build around for the future. when was the last player signed on something more than a 2 yr deal? this situation of bringing 9/10 players every season just doesn't seem the way to...

Bournemouth handed a £7.6m FFP fine

so a 6m limit was exceeded by over 30m. Scary factor is also they felt the need for a 30m wage budget in the Championship. Maybe we can't afford to get promoted. Also look at the other sides mentioned Bolton, Forest & Fulham. Once the sugar daddy owners disappear it really does get bleak.
