Undoubtedly it is. However even with all of that going on, a clear request from SISU to be engaged if there is an opportunity to buy into ACL could not be easily denied by the council. The council have a statutory duty to maximise their return from any assets that are sold, you can't do that...

I couldn't agree more. It's unbelieveable that Councillors and others who made so much of the outrage of moving Coventry to Northampton can now advocate doing the same to another club. For what it's worth I've made that point directly to Ann Lucas and my local councillors. The simple fact is...

Don't get me wrong mate, I'm dead set against this move as you know. But I couldn't give a monkey's about who might or might not be behind it, what I want to see is for SISU to step up and say that they want to be involved too. At that point, the Council have a problem and people will start...

    Letter to Councillors

Well, I've fired off mine to Ann Lucas and my three ward councillors. I've tried to point out the moral and financial issues, and the impact on our existing clubs. I don't know if it will work, and I don't know if it's a done deal. I do know that SISU aren't helping themselves by sitting back...

And it could have been spiked had SISU shown any interest in buying in. It probably still could.

Plant or not, which bit would you differ with Rob? Do SISU want a longer term deal, do you think? Would they like to buy into the arena? Are they dropping the threats of legal action?

Wasps bid for Ricoh Arena valued at £30million

If this deal means that Wasps are franchised away from their fanbase, then it's wrong. I don't care if it's better for CCC, ACL, CCFC and Cov RFC, if it tears Wasps away from their supporters then it's morally wrong, and we should all stand against it. SISU have dropped us in the sh*t with...

Billy Daniels to force his way into First Team?

Erm... this sounds a lot like we're doing now, except with a different keeper! ;)

Billy Daniels to force his way into First Team?

I'm glad it's not just me struggling to remember things. Maybe they'll let us have adjoining rooms in the care home. ;)

Billy Daniels to force his way into First Team?

Honest question here, because I genuinely can't remember - wasn't Daniels actually played in a wide position when he broke into the side? If so, I'm not much encouraged by the thought of shoehorning another wide player into a narrow three. But maybe memory is playing tricks on me...

Council could vote on Ricoh takeover as early as Tuesday

I think that points to the fact that in terms of the club's turnover it wasn't seen as a huge issue. If we could have bought the ground directly, instead of renting it, the interest on the loan would have been substantially more. SISU, as we know, weren't bothered about it for a fair while...

Council could vote on Ricoh takeover as early as Tuesday

I know that's just bitterness speaking, but in truth if we're going to retain these owners and their current grand plan for improving CCFC's fate, then for an out-of-town stadium 15k might be too big. I doubt I'd bother to go very often if the limit of our ambition is to struggle along in L1...

Council could vote on Ricoh takeover as early as Tuesday

So in that case the covenant (if it existed) wasn't actually broken, was it? A suitable alternative had been found (and indeed occupied) before the HR land had been built on. As for a new covenant on the Ricoh, who could have foreseen the club choosing to move out?

Coventry story on radio in Brighton

Thanks NW. I didn't mean to have a pop at TLO, and I wouldn't have said anything if he didn't seem to be enjoying provoking an unnecessary row. In truth, I'd rather look forward rather than backwards - the big worry now is the possible deal with Wasps. Nothing stands still in CV6 it seems!

Council could vote on Ricoh takeover as early as Tuesday

I'm not forgetting them - but what are the council supposed to do if the owners of the club don't want to come to the table, and keep insisting that they are building elsewhere?

Council could vote on Ricoh takeover as early as Tuesday

Ah, it was the Council that sold Highfield Road was it. Not the owners of the club after a grand scheme. That's news to me. Got some evidence of that, or of any 'covenant' that could have prevented a sale between private third parties? Forgive me, but this looks a little made up and sounds a...

Council could vote on Ricoh takeover as early as Tuesday

If the Wasps deal is accepted and the contract signed, then it's going to be a little late to make any offer. If you were looking to match or top Wasps' offer then I'd say now is the time to express interest because I suspect the Council would be legally obliged to listen. Beyond that point...

Council could vote on Ricoh takeover as early as Tuesday

But CCFC, or at least SISU, are still standing by the line that they're building elsewhere. In the meantime, they're persisting with the legal appeal. I would say that to most people that shuts down the possiblity of doing a deal, or at the least the obligation to offer one. You're supporting...

Council could vote on Ricoh takeover as early as Tuesday

Which then went on to make up ACL's humping great mortgage which even SISU accepted was the main driver of the rent. Regardless, there was still scope for a greatly reduced deal £400k, and possibly even £150k which was turned down. Please, let's not do this again. The one thing that is...
