No excuse for some of these scores. Yorks have 5 or 6 Test batsmen in their side. These aren't top quality bowlers taking the wickets this season. Seems to medium-fast bowlers who generally bowl a length and occasionally swing it a bit. Shouldn't be such a problem for experienced county players.

Not sure what people expect. Days of a player even making 100 appearances for a club before moving on are pretty much gone. If some of this lot want to maintain links with the club all well and good. One of my ambitions as a youngster was to grow big enough to have "Hormantschuk" instead off...

went through mine last night. Think i'd miss them. Programmes for/from matches against over 60 different sides going back over 40 years now. Something nostalgic about them. A physical trigger of certain memories about some games / matchdays. Also found a box of completed Panini sticker albums...

EFL to vote on whether clubs have to produce a matchday programme or not. Gotta admit i'm old school and have a cupboard full of programmes (over 1200 odd) going back to mid 70s. Still flick through them. Son keeps the tradition going. Personally think it'd be a shame if they stopped producing...

Smith's getting nearly $24 million - over next couple of seasons. Market's going to keep going that way. 2 other teams were prepared to offer the same deal, 2 others offered more money. Still seems a reasonable salary when an injury-prone Bradford is getting 20m.
