Seems financial shenanigans still plague Pompey. It isnt just us http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-15859800

FAO the ‘Thorn is a miracle worker’ lot on here

"really doubt if Alex Ferguson, Arsene Wenger or any other top manager would do any better with the squad he has got to work with". I reckon given their vast experience, knowledge, management & motivation skills not to mention their coaching credentials (nearly all of which AT does not have)...

but has the football been effective ? Have the "performances" been successful? There have been as many bad performances as good and most have been mediocre (often play well one half awful the other). You see i dont see that much positive football.... i see plenty of pretty football in our half...

    4-3-3/4-5-1?

I think 4: 5: 1 with two of the central mids holding the third playing just infront. Think it would make it hard for the opposition to get behind us. Assuming that the midfield is allowed to attack(essential if to work) then that should drag the whole team forward because they have to support...

Given that the object of playing is to win how can anyone say that the diamond is the preferred formation and it is successful. The proof is in the results that it is not We dont have the players to play it. It relies on the fullbacks getting up and down the line, ours are hesitant in doing...

    team fundamentals

Like ashbyjan said thats the blueprint at Barcelona. All their teams play the same way, so players know what to expect as they progress through to the club. It was started by Johan Cruyff, who despite a lot of initial opposition was strong enough to force it through. I bet no one complains now ...

take the point about it comes from the top and filters down............. but i would suggest we had the losing habit before SISU even got here. We were already locked into it and SISU have accelerated it

hold up ........ so on the one hand we are suffering because we are having to use inexperienced youngsters ...... then on the other hand with Bigi, Thomas, Christie in the team we are not far off ?

out of interest when do people consider players to got some decent experience ? say 20 starts in the team and they are begining to know what its about ? Squad of 30 14 senior players plus 3 keepers other than Murphy plus youngsters - Cameron, ROD, Deagan all played well over 20 professional...

You know what is frustrating is the polarised views expressed by folk. Some say AT is doing the best anyone could given what he has to work with. Others say he isnt the man and should go. Woe betide anyone who doesnt toe the party line. Neither polarised view takes proper consideration of...

just to play devils advocate So it was the right decision to appoint a guy with absolutely no management experience was it ? Being a chief scout is a world away from any football management yet he is the right choice to deal with the pressures of the Championship ? He is what we have and I...

    team fundamentals

I agree as far as injuries go but I do think that as a whole this season I do not think the squad is as fit as last year. They seem to run out of energy in last 15mins. I know the youngsters have an impact on that whilst they develop strength at this level but the senior players seem less fit

    team fundamentals

There are a number of issues I have with the team, how it plays and its ability to perform. It isnt about the formation as such although I firmly believe the diamond for the squad we have is far too fragile and easily overcome by the opposition. There are things about CCFC teams over the recent...

To those who think that Juke should go for 3 mil...

I dont think it is unwilling on the part of Bigi & Thomas ..... i reckon they have been told to hold position first and foremost. They are not encouraged to go forward and get beyond. That is how the first team are coached, and has been a problem for seasons. Our midfield does not contribute...

    RATINGS FOLKS v Cardiff

I dont think that we are good enough to carry 2 passengers in a match and last night McSheffery & Bigi were awful. McSheffery ambled around in midfield achieving very little. Couldnt control or pass a ball, he made it look like he was closing players down but if you watched what he actually...
