    Godiva Festival has cost 540k

I see the CT have changed their headline to 'Scrapped Godiva Festival 'cost Coventry £120,000 in lost trade'

    Godiva Festival has cost 540k

What I would say is that this is a council led event put on and made available at no extra cost to all the citizens of Coventry should they choose to attend...... that is budgeted for each year and is mitigated by concessions and sponsorship. It is not money put into a private limited company...

    Godiva Festival has cost 540k

we spend it every year Nick ...... lot of people enjoy it ..... brings money into the local economy ..... usually a feel good factor for the City not sure on some of the figures. Do they mean that total costs are £420K and they then get £120K from site concessions which offsets it ? or do they...

    Godiva Festival has cost 540k

So the real cost of cancelling was £120k which is the concessions income that the council wont get. The other costs are the annual costs of putting on the Godiva so you would expect those to be in the annual budget. What they actually pay out is £420K Will have to pay the bands their fees so...

    mcpake gone for free!

no offense taken CCFC :D ............ just pointing out that too much credit or criticism seemed to be given to him in the thread as a whole not to the defence he played well & badly in for a time, imo. McPake had his qualities, was physical and put himself in where it hurt coupled with the...

    O'Donovan

Unfortunately I do not think the reason we have stuck with AT is the continuity or longevity..... as much as that is a right way to go with the right man(not saying AT is or isnt) i dont think that was why the decision to keep him was taken CC4L Yes the first ten games worked to a degree...

    O'Donovan

I agree it doesnt have to be Spanish style ....... but those are elements of successful teams, all have more than passing, and the passing they do is with a positive purpose and so is successful. I think that the bad side of a passing for passing sake game was illustrated by Spain vs Portugal a...

    O'Donovan

it takes more qualities than being able to pass the ball around though in Spain's national team or top teams. They are comfortable on the ball for starters, not afraid to pass to someone who is marked knowing they will control the ball, they love to have the ball don't look to lump it up field...

I Know who the international striker is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gollom .... sorry Earnshaw would be a good signing ...... if we could afford him ........ and therein lies the problem

    Paycuts

Thats how it was put wingy yes ....... but i never bought into that. It locked in liabilities just as much. Given they knew the figures it makes even less sense now

    Paycuts

got to agree ..... surely they knew the figures as to how the club was doing even if we didnt
