Do you think we've reached "the bottom of the business cycle" yet?

Bluntly, there will always be wriggle room - because "the devil is in the detail". However as Duffer says, negotiation has to be done in good faith from both sides. Let's hope that can happen.

I posed the question simply because some seem to assume that the answer is "No". I think that ACL's viability must be impacted by the loss of the club, but to assume that this means that the business is unviable, seems little more than a guess. As for the comparison with the viability of CCFC...

I had the same thought. Does ruling out a "long term return" suggest that they may be open to a "short term return". It's always seemed the most sensible option if both sides can put the bad blood of the past behind them. I know that's quite a big "if", but let's hope.....

Is cowardice a sideshow?

I've no idea what SISU would do if this situation arose, but if they were to decide to charge the club an "extortionate rent" this would be a nil sum game for them, as one of their companies (the club) would be paying it and another (the property owning non-trading subsidiary :)) receiving it...

To be honest, the main thing that the offer does is to highlight the complete absurdity of SISU keeping us in Northampton. But there are very few who need convincing of that (outside the SISU Boardroom :)).

He didn't actually accuse OSB of bias. If he had, he would have left himself open to being asked to provide some evidence for the claim. Instead he indulged in some rather poor mud slinging. Not really worthy of RobS who is generally worth reading.

Re point 2, I think there is a difference between criticising and mud slinging.

If there really is a £3m bid for a third division player with only one season behind him, then I think that most (if not all) clubs would accept it. The issue is that looking back on last season, our successful period was pretty much based on goals from Clarke and Wilson, with useful support...
