    Fisher Speaks on cwr

He mentioned Primacy a couple of times (he must have been reading these forums!). I would suggest the details be checked closely. If Wasps were playing in the Heineken Cup (rugby equivalent of CL) and Cov played Fleetwood on the same day of FA Cup round 1....well what do you think?

Labour group votes to approve £19.5m Ricoh sale to Wasps

Taking thousands to MK Dons was a strange way to protest about CCFC'S (temporary) franchise (though maybe not last one) and a strange way to show they disagree with franchising in general.

If councillors believe that CCFC will leave and build a stadium outside the city

And the biggest catchment for Wimbledon was in Wimbledon. And Wasps supporters are in West London. Franchising businessmen don't give a feck for the current fans. They want real estate, 365 a year income, hotels, conferences etc and their "sports franchises" (to use ACL words) are just a...

If councillors believe that CCFC will leave and build a stadium outside the city

I've been boring folk about franchising for months though it seems people are starting to understand my points. There must remain the risk SISU move CCFC near to Brum to get a bigger catchment area. Or maybe even London? Hell, there's some space at Adams Park, High Wycombe! The fact is...

city still play at ricoh regardless of wasps takeover

I'm pleased you felt that way. I live in Northampton but would never have popped in to watch Coventry playing "at home". I never got my head round the protests to that move included getting thousands of people to watch the away match v Franchise FC! With the Wasps news, part of me can't help...

RFU Will Rubber Stamp Wasps Move According To The Times

Wimbledon franchised to Milton Keynes. Wasps franchised to Coventry. Coventry franchised (1 year only) to Northampton. Northampton Saints almost franchised to Milton Keynes. Coventry City...without priority of games over the rugby club and without their own stadium....off where next...

    Who would have Primacy?

I'm not making anything up. Just very unhappy how "sports franchising" is increasing. Very pleased CCFC are no longer at Sixfields though I still don't trust SISU not to move you somewhere else again...do you? All I'm saying is that if CCFC do become tenants of RFC Franchise you MUST...

    Who would have Primacy?

And it never stopped people protesting about their club being moved 35 miles by turning up in their thousands to a franchised fc that had been moved 70 miles..... I never understood that at all. Ironic that a new franchise now threatens those same people...

    Who would have Primacy?

Maybe it doesn't matter in the wonderful world of "sports franchises" (as ACL like to say). But franchising is killing real sport. CCFC supporters are seeing it up close now. If Wasps franchise to Ricoh they will surely have primacy over their own stadium. EPL rules are quite clear - a...

    How many clubs...

As I mentioned on a previous thread, the football teams mentioned all have primacy...an EPL rule. The idea of RFC Franchise owning Ricoh but not having primacy sounds incredible. Meaning...CCFC could never play in the Prem at Ricoh. ps Wingy : Saracens have moved to Barnet from Watford.

    Who would have Primacy?

No, it's nothing to do with 3pm. It's about football clubs having primacy over rugby (or other) teams. It's an EPL rule. Unsure about FL rules. There's no football team in England currently renting from a rugby club. If CCFC rent from Wasps and Wasps have primacy (very likely) then CCFC could...

    Who would have Primacy?

I'm not very good at this thing...will try to delete other thread. Anyway...the point is ... who would have primacy?

    Who would have Primacy?

EPL rules say a club must have primacy in any shared stadium. Not sure about FL rules but If CCFC still have ambitions to ever get back into PL then they would need primacy over Wasps in a shared stadium. Seems unlikely if Wasps are owners. Just seems another reason to reject this latest...

    Wasps buying the Ricoh!

Sorry, just read the DT story. Hadn't read the SBT threads. It all seems a mess to me though tbh it's ironic that those who had a dig because I didn't see why Cov fans would want to watch the Franchise FC match now appear cross their stadium is being bought by....a franchise rugby club...

    Wasps buying the Ricoh!

Hey guys, great to see you playing back home again. Daily Telegraph now reporting Wasps are buying the Ricoh! SISU likely to give up then now? What will all this mean? ps apparently Saints and Leicester not pleased at another Prem rugby club moving quite close to them...franchise rugby eh!!!

    new view from the hill

He's certainly losing popularity amongst the Northampton fans. For 150k per year rent it hardly seems worth the trouble of having Coventry there. Even 2 Cobblers home games with 5k watching @ say £15 average ticket makes that much. So Cobblers make not that much. SISU lose even more. How long...

Don't forget the council built the stadium 20 years ago. Then recently sold it to Cardoza for £1 as it was losing money. The £12m loan is to be repaid by sale of adjacent land that was part of what the council gave away for £1! SISU must be green with envy at what Cardoza got away with.

Total cock up from Cardoza. He got planning permission for the new stand. Then at the last minute decided he needed more conference rooms and corporate boxes so instead of doing the job from May to August it's now August to October. Even then it's controversial. As you say the builders seem...

    MK Dons -The Yardstick

Obviously peeps will make their own decisions. And fair enough. FWIW I fear SISU treat CCFC as their "sports franchise". Personally, I turned down free tickets to watch my team play Franchise FC on principle. I hope many CCFC fans do too, given the current situation. Winkie inspired SISU...not good!
