    Euro 2016 big thread

Though Henderson's crossing let him down tonight, I don't think his performance was as bad as others are making out. Unlucky not score with that volley which was well blocked too... As for Wilshire, thought he really was poor. Gave away possession frequently and not physical enough. Unlike...

How would you feel if we...

Wow... Never been called that one before! FWIW I absolutely despise rugby (always have done, always will). I find it sickening to see the Wasps logo on our stadium and am surprised at the level of indifference towards Wasps merchandise being sold on our match days. Sometimes, situations are so...

How would you feel if we...

No, and I'm not an apologist for Wasps either. We are well and truly in the shit and may be forced into accepting things we don't want to happen. I wouldn't want us to do this (and it may well be that most fans who buy shirts would refuse to consider buying one, so we would lose out that way)...

How would you feel if we...

... had Wasps as the sponsor of our away shirt and played in yellow/black stripes away? I believe that we may already have an agreement in place for the away shirt next year, but can't help feeling that this could be a bargaining chip to get a bigger slice of revenue from the Ricoh from Wasps...

"Realistic" free transfers or signings only

Unlikely to get Taylor now that AFC Wimbledon have gone up. As I said on another thread, I think we should be after Scott Wagstaff (attacking midfielder just been released by Bristol City)

Mogga meeting with Championship and L1 players this week

Hope Scott Wagstaff was one of the players Mowbray met up with last week. Would be a very good addition - he wants more first team football (just been released from Bristol City) and is excellent at this level. Gadshev seems to be a replacement for Fleck, I think Wagstaff would be good in the...

    Bristol Rovers

I live in Bedminster, but used to live in Rovers territory (Horfield / Kingswood). Not been drinking on Gloucester Rd for years - think there are some quite expensive pubs which aren't all that special. Happy to listen to recommendations though... Good to see both Bristol clubs heading in the...

    Bristol Rovers

For obvious reasons I'm pleased too! Will involve a visiting a few pubs along the Gloucester Road... wise to avoid the Wellington Arms though (potential for trouble). Used to be a pub called the John Cabot which was a nightmare, but it was refurbished a few years ago - now called the Royal Oak...

    Jordan Willis back in training

Agree, Otis. Though he's not the tallest CB, he is good in the air for his height. When he broke into the first team I think he showed some promise as a CB. With him, Aaron Martin and young Harries we just need a beast of a CB to give us the right mix next year (one that isn't always injured...)

    Phillips: new contract or not?

Lots of fans often say 'get rid, he's crap' about a player, but don't about whether we could get better for the same money. Both Haynes and Phillips seem to be better going forward, so might depend on whether TM intends to play wing backs more often next season.

    Phillips: new contract or not?

have not been to a game for a while, so am wondering whether you think Aaron Phillips deserves a new contract based on last few games? Seems to be very committed to the cause and I get the impression he is improving defensively (less prone to rash challenges, maybe). I really don't know - I...

    Bradford Match Thread

Delighted to admit that my pessimism about the result was misplaced! A lot of credit to the team for playing with a lot of spirit - just listening on the radio, sounds like Aaron Phillips has made a lot of progress in particular in the past few games.

    Bradford Match Thread

Sorry guys, don't get the optimism Other team has it all to play for, we don't (we might have a mathematical possibility of playoffs, but it would take a bizarre sequence of results) We only beat Millwall because they went down to 10 men, form before that was dire 0-3 Bradford I hope Mowbray...

    Murphy

If Murphy is carrying an injury, would it be worth giving Jordan Spence a debut on Tuesday? Don't know much about him to be honest, but think he might add some urgency to our play by getting past a full back and providing crosses for Tudgay (who I'd start on Tues)

still a playoffs team if we...

Otis: trying to keep that positivity vibe going, like yourself... One positive from yesterday - at least RCC wasn't sent off! Didn't think it was a red card offence, but that would have been another hassle to deal with. Hope Joe Cole is dragged in for extra shooting practice though...

still a playoffs team if we...

Earlsdon - I do know what you mean, Kent was (is) a frustrating player, but my concern is that if Murphy is off form (which I agree he has been recently) then we don't have that blistering pace which commits defenders into rash challenges and causes panic.

still a playoffs team if we...

Also worth saying that although Bigi had a shocker yesterday by all accounts, I still think he may be worth having in the long run. I don't go to games very much, but he very much impressed me in the first half of the Oldham game recently (though he faded away in the 2nd half). Personally, I'd...

still a playoffs team if we...

... recruit a solid left back on loan and sign a pacy striker. We've missed Ryan Kent quite a lot because although he doesn't have much end product, his pace on the counter attack drags opposition players out of position. That's especially important in away games against good opposition. I...

    Gary Taylor Fletcher

Though there are others I'd prefer to see here ahead of him, I think some people need to remember we're a League One club and that we may soon be in a position where we need to sign someone like this if Mowbray can't get the loans he wants... It's all very well having skilful players like...

    Mowbray wants experienced players

Agree with Scooby Blue. I do think TM is more likely to detect a player who is after one last pay day than some of our recent managers though. Otis - I was one of those who was pleased when we signed Simeon Jackson... I think he was one of our most disappointing signings for a long while...
