    we're missing something

Out of interest NW, is that based on any evidence or is it supposition? What's interesting with stuff re ML and Blair is it does provide some factual basis.

    we're missing something

I don't think there is any suggestion that ML was the brains behind sisu/ccfc (and I certainly wouldn't suggest that!) but as per the first post I did today, seeing what skills he brought to Blair's finances means it doesn't seem too great a leap to think he was brought in by sisu to utilise...

    we're missing something

Interesting views re ML - his CV and wealth suggest there may be other perspectives on him?

    we're missing something

I'd forgotten this quote about Labovitch's role in relation to Tony Blair "Labovitch was at the centre of a complex web of companies that, due to the way they are structured, have to disclose only a minimal amount of information concerning Blair's business operations, the profits he makes or...

    we're missing something

If you take the view that this is nothing to with football but the aim is all about money - and assuming Waggott and Fisher aren't working on a voluntary basis and are more likely to be on the kind of wages the rest of us would give our right arm for - then they're pretty successful!

    we're missing something

Again suspect this is reading too much into it. They are asset strippers. The pre financial crash investment was the phase that was out of character and that was due to sisu having more money than they knew what to do with and seppala not being involved in the decision to buy ccfc. since JS...

    we're missing something

'Break even' is probably the key phrase. If, as a simplified example, the cost of running the club for the 2015/16 season is £100 but Season Ticket sales produce only £20 and other projected income is £20 then unless there are assets (players) to be sold there is going to be a loss so that's the...

    we're missing something

Getting out of one (or even a handful) of long-term contracts is very different to having a whole squad on 2/3/4 year deals, as was shown by what happened with SP. The shift away from longer term contracts for players seems pretty clear.

    we're missing something

I suspect we all hope sisu have a master plan which includes footballing success but maybe things are no more complicated than what's in front of our eyes ie Ranson persuaded them to get involved pre financial crash when sisu had more money than they knew what to do with and Joy Seppala wasn't...

    ***Relegation Thread***

I've started feeling very nervous since the Orient game. After the away wins I was confident we'd beat Orient and we'd then have been looking pretty much ok. Even having lost that game, if we'd won at NC we'd be looking a lot more comfortable. But if we write off Bristol City and want to avoid...

    Election 2015

The Greens signed the Observer/Les Reid letter for an inquiry into CCC so thought that might sway some on here, one way or t'other!

    The low down on ARVO

Is the problem perhaps that sisu aren't actually building a stadium? It's getting close to 2 years since they said a new ground would be delivered within 3 years. It's proved a pr/spin masterstroke but 23 months down the line is the reality that it remains no more than that?

    Notts County Match Thread

Am feeling ridiculously nervous (if we win we're pretty much safe, if we lose and other results go against us we're in real trouble) but at least this made me smile.

Would you pay £64 to watch City?

Same here, which was why I did the OP. £64 for a ticket, a 20 year old turns down £100k a week, £5bn tv deal. Can't be right?

Would you pay £64 to watch City?

Apparently that's the price for away fans at Arsenal today

Was feeling confident until after Wed's game. Orient are a v poor team but we managed to come away with nothing. If we lose on Monday and other results go against us we are in real trouble. With our home form so bad, what on paper should be easy home fixtures eg Colchester in reality don't offer...

How do you think the table is going to look after Friday's games?

Looking at today and Monday games I just can't work out best sequence of results - other than us beating NC which would make life a lot simpler.

    Orient Match Thread

Felt pretty disheartened at full time because Orient were very poor but we still managed to come away with nothing. 20 mins of dominance but failed to score then concede a typical soft goal. Over 90 mins just not good enough.

    The point is?

Sorry, wasn't being ironic at all just totally bemused by the scg minutes and all the subsequent stuff - and that was before seeing the latest PSB group statement...fubar?

    The point is?

We are at our lowest footballing level in half a century with no credible plan for how things will improve. May 2013 sisu promised a new stadium would be delivered within 3 years but 22 months have passed with no site identified, no land purchased, no planning application submitted. Even the...
