Match Thread Watford (a) - Sat 14th Sept

The problem with that is it's the owner's expectation we finish top 6 and since the playoff final he's spent a shed load of money to improve the team.

You need consistency. That's to be proven.

Think you've had a bang on the head there mate.

    Is Anyone Else Feeling....

Definitely not Thomas, yet. I mean he can't even get a regular game here. Saka and Simms have been very average this season but we know what they are capable of.

    Is Anyone Else Feeling....

So who would you say are the 'good' quality Championship players we've bought in the last 2 seasons?

    Is Anyone Else Feeling....

Can't say I'm very positive. I think it's the realisation that we've sold the 3 highest quality players we have and bought in a lot of average quantity. Players that don't even bring much when they come on as subs.

    Victor Torp

He's lucky because he will have to play a good number of games until the end of December. In the Norwich game he got his head down, tackled and competed more. What we need to see is him doing that but also finding time to look up and pass forward. And to form a proper partnership with Eccles or...

    Spurs Tickets

I'd prefer to moan that football has got completely out of control in terms of players wages, transfer fees, merch, match day prices and everything around it. I personally won't pay mad prices to help fund that ridiculous, unethical business model.

    Spurs Tickets

Spurs will play a reserve team (the vast majority I've never heard of) for 90 mins and Robins will play our reserves for 45 mins. It's the Carabao cup. Is that worth £37? No.

    Eccles

I think Eccles is an ok Championship level hardworking, no frills midfielder who doesn't hide, gets tackles in, breaks up play and does simple passing. He cant thread a ball through or run and break the line. I don't mind him. The problem is we need another 2 midfielders to join him who have...

Interview with Robins after Norwich game

The main thought I had around that interview was how many of these players actually want to fight to be in the starting lineup and how many are happy just to lean back into the squad? I recall an interview with Wright where is seemed quite content with Robins just picking who he fancied from the...

    Bassette

Everyone has been pointing at midfield. Now all of a sudden we seem pretty keen to throw in a 19 year old newbie as the lead striker ahead of Simms, Wright, BTA, EMC and Tavares... Maybe we've all gone nuts! Ps. I know it's mainly because we desperately want some fight and spirit... Pps. And...

    Early days but basics lacking

Better off leaving it to the centre backs and keeper. Wright would scare them into action .

    Early days but basics lacking

Got to add bringing everyone back for opposition corners to this. Norwich would have left 2 or even 3 defenders back to mark Wright if he just stayed on the halfway line.

    Bassette

I like what I've seen from Bassette but in the end you have to deliver if you have 'attitude' with team mates. He needs a good assist or goal in the next couple. I guess he's best in a two, maybe try BTA (although I'm not seeing what others are in him tbh). But Robins definitely needs to sort...

Tactical Analysis - CCFC Vs Norwich

Simms had at least 3 decent chances first half. One from the left when he was through and poked it wide. One really good headed chance he mistimed. And one from the right.

    New Formation?

3 big central defenders would be pretty sluggish against quicker forwards. That midfield would probably get overrun. I don't think BTA is the answer. Simms or Bassette are better options going forward.

Match Thread Coventry City - Norwich City Match Thread - Saturday 31st Aug

Most the team are scared shitless to have the ball at the moment. Torp tried, got his head down and dug in better but that's not really enough. Eccles always get the ball more, works and tackles which is worth something but isn't a forward passer. Saka has developed a more negative approach...

    Early days but basics lacking

He seems very consciously to come into the centre for some form of zonal defence. When clearly it's better for him to man mark the wide player and stop crosses. As you say it's been an obvious weakness for all the games. If he's being told to do it I'd ignore the directive because he's being...
