Leeds finished 3rd last year and we finished 9th. After a year of 'gelling' and quite a few additions we should have some confidence of competing. I hope we don't go silly defensive.

The fantasy was we buy a shed load of strikers and go and attack every game and crush a good few. Then you wake up and realise it's Cov...

I'd be extremely surprised if Sheaf starts. He'll be a 60 min sub I suspect. Lati will go midfield...

If you were Leeds players who would you be a bit worried about in match ups? I suspect it would only be Saka, Wright and maybe Simms. Against our midfield and defence you must really fancy your chances. Probably tells you who we should play.

The Netherlands isn't 'Nordic'. So you've got 1 Dane.

    Counter Attack

You would think that is Simms. He needs to get in the box far more often

Can't see anything but a hammering here, 3:0. I think Robins will play a very defensive side.

    Goal Analysis

We also seem to have fitness, athleticism issues. Wright and Torp are always knackered after 30 mins. Simms is not athletic enough to hassle defenders. Torp, Eccles, Sheaf, (and EMC) are slow. Saka, Torp, Allen aren't strong enough and get easily knocked off the ball.

    Goal Analysis

What's concerning is we are weak all over the pitch defensively. We have too many central strikers, too few wide players who know how to support full backs, weak and slow central midfielders, full backs who continually give wide players space to cross, central defenders prone to blunders, and...

    Robins will carry the can

What's not normal is saying 'they look excellent' when they haven't and we've played shit. That's just bizarre. A bit of common sense realism isnt 'tearing' anyone down.

'reasonable at worst' isn't 'looking excellent' is it?????

    Robins will carry the can

None of them have been 'excellent'. Rudoni has done decent the last 2 games, Bassette showed some promise without scoring, BTA average at best, EMC poor. Last seasons signings Collins, Kitching cant get a game, Simms being benched for a 19 year old, Wright subbed at half time, Saka off his...

Always good to watch the Huckerby goal Man U game. So much intensity, speed and work rate from Cov players. 100% effort. Every player.

    Simms and Wright

I would play them both and ask people to pass to them continually. They need some shock treatment. Shit or bust.

And if the best 11 doesn't include new signings like BTA and EMC then tough. BTA moaning about being played in his least favoured position on the right pissed me off. The guy got a first team chance against Spurs and moans. Then rows with MVE against Swansea.

As has been said many times we don't get the basics right - all over the pitch. Not at all helped by chopping and changing and playing people out of position. Decide on the first 11, coach them properly on the basics and play them for at least half a dozen games.
