Transfer Rumour Summer Transfer Window 2026 (16 Viewers)

The Holes "rumour" is clearly nonsense, it's their manager saying Lampard told the player he liked his performance, a performance in a game they lost 3 nil and happened in December 2025.

Be shocked if that was real.
Offered ten million for him on a 6 year deal.

Holes is Cov.

So if Tomori is still available in the last few hours of the window will we be in for him ?

Don't think so anymore, he clearly doesn't want to come to us and we seem to have moved on.

Ipswich having a proper crack at it…
We’ll see but I don’t think their manager is up to it and I think they may have many unhappy people not playing anywhere near enough
If they’re winning lots it will be less of an issue

Yeah, hopefully it all goes tits up and they’ve wasted they’re budget but I’d of taken a couple of their signings..We’ve gone very quiet ?

You would have thought so but it's very quiet regarding his future

It was reported a couple of days ago that Villa’s interest in him has cooled and the proposed move is “on hold”. No other reports that I can find of any other serious interest in him.

I think that we have seen our last signing this summer- its now probably all down to loans. So in reality its going to be finding young backups to what we have now - or some emerging star from a 'big' club not quite ready for their first team, or someone on a loan to buy.

As I posted before, I'll be surprised if having Lamps as manager doesn't open up an opportunity late in the window to take someone of real quality on loan. There's a lot of players out there on long term contracts that clubs are either looking to move on or need game time, they won't all find a home. The key will be affordability of wages and an acceptance that we won't be in a position to provide a meaningful obligation to buy, it will be an interim measure to suit both parties.

Ipswich signing World Cup winners while we pick up kids on loan who’ve barely kicked a ball. Yippee.
I guess they had the advantage and experience plus money from their previous season in the PL . Add on a season of parachute payments( player sales ) and promotion again. It's obvious they have also changed their buying strategy from the previous time they were promoted

Some of our fans our delusional when it comes to our transfer business.

I don't think many expected us to spend what we have

and yet look how thin we are in important places. Suggests we havent used our funds wisely

They received 30 million for Delap and the winger who went to Forest for 38 million when they were relegated.

With respect to Saddle he's working off second/third hand gossip, don't lap it up as gospel. We all love a rumour but they are just that, especially since Doug plugged the leaks. Likewise the observer saying Mfuni bailed I doubt it was ever cut and dry at that point, more us registering interest and him considering options. There could be a load of reasons why deals go off. Funds might be dwindling but the fact we are making attempts must mean we have something in the pot left. Doug has always said he'll make moves if there value in it for us.

It's coming to the crunch now players that were holding out for better offers earlier in the windows will be getting twitchy, perhaps we are keeping our powder dry to try and get a bigger fish with whatever we have left closer to deadline day

Agree with this! That’s why I feel Tomori might still happen if he’s not gone anywhere by deadline day.

The business around the Awoniyi Cherif period was great, if we had continuedin that vein it would hav ebeen a great window.

it appears though we are spluttering over the line, with significant points to fill in the squad, whilst everyone else in the league is gearing up for their grand finale.

you really do over-index on the bedwetting scale. No team is buying a player a day for the entirety of the transfer window. Work goes into getting deals over the line, lining up the next deals and seeing what sticks. We've bought: a 2 GKs, 2 CBs, 3CMs, a RW, 2CFs. Strong rumours a LCB/LB is imminent. Think there'll be 2 more in addiiton. What other 'significant points' are you expecting us to fill?

Who said that hahaha nobody has talked about a player a day.

We need a LW and an experienced CM.

Some people are here are thoroughly ridiculous
