Thought would be good to get a list of positives from everyone ahead of this season and what may help us stay up and do well?

Players signed are positive?
Frank Lampard experience
Lots of manager changes at other clubs
Record amount of teams in Europe, we may play them after midweek games
Positive group of players

We're in a totally different place than we would have been had we beaten Luton.

A really good mixture of signings; youth, experience, African Wonder kids.

I am genuinely excited about what we could achieve.

We are always going to be predicted to get relegated by pundits. Maybe fairly as the step up is so much, but I don’t think we can really ask to be in a better position to have a go at it. In fact scratch that - I can’t imagine us being in any better position to have a go at it.

Yes I agree, but fans need to remain positive and not knee jerk if we have two or three defeats on the bounce.

Never happen unfortunately. I remember twats around me booing after the draw at home to Oxford, despite us being top of the league.

This is my worry as well.

I remember people leaving early when Ipswich were beating us at home last season.

We have to stay positive and encourage fans around us to stay positive.

The atmosphere around where I sit is boring.

I'm going to do my best to encourage some more noise from the boring fuckers around me this season.

I think the ones who go in to the season sceptical about our chances are possibly most likely to remain calm if things don’t start well

I think one of the reasons we started so well last season is that we had a fairly settled squad, and although the club has made quite a few signings already, I feel we still have kept a fairly settled team and expanded on it to make it (hopefully) Premier League ready.

We've got a side now, when everyone's fit, that looks like it can be competitive among the bottom half teams. That's a sound platform.

A good enough start will look like 3pts at home to Hull, a bonus would be another point. Man City looked dire against Arsenal on Sunday. It's important not to fall behind a point per game, I think. We need to pick up points before the injuries come and the bench is exposed but, if luck's on our side, you never know. Sunderland got a lot of late goals last season rescuing draws and grabbing late wins (we learnt that in the cup run too) so fitness will really count in this league as well as having something on the bench to bring something to the games later on.

This sounds like block 1.

I’m only there because mints and other sweets are passed around. Inside I just want to stand up and beckon the away fans over with out stretched arms.

Same here, disgraceful the booing was. Unfortunately a lot of fans reactions are kneejerk rather than looking at the bigger picture.

Think most are going to embrace it and cut a lot of slack. Me personally… I have zero expectations. I’m already not particularly enjoying the PL experience but that’s more about me hating what football has become. I always felt like fans still mattered…but we don’t really. I can be replaced by someone who will pay more but has never seen us, has no connection and is looking for just a day out experience.
Sorry… miserable old bastard moan over with.

Very optimistic that we can do better than 4 teams in this new season.

I’m looking forward to the lazy arsed predictions of us being relegated (and proving them wrong)

Visiting new (& old ones) grounds for the first time.

Having chats with Premier league club supporting mates without being patronised.

Providing a few shocks and generally enjoying our season back in the big league.

I’m going in eyes wide open-we know how tough it’s going to be, we know we’ll have games where we get hammered.

But it’s about sticking together as genuinely our supporters can be that 12th man.

I hope we bring about the same attitude as the ‘Don’t Worry’ chants in League 2 .

My yardstick used to be we need at least 10 points from the first ten games, if we did that I'd not feel too uncomfortable.
Ahh, the good old days.. I don't know if I'm being unrealistic but I don't think we'll be so near the bottom this season as we often were.

Theres a few teams in the PL like Fulham and Bournemouth, who didnt establish themselves straight away.
They got relegated and went back up before they did so.

Next year may not be our year, but maybe it comes 2 seasons down the line?

Not really a reason to be positive but more to be realistic and realise the trajectory we're on.

Just need to be sensible and keep expectations realistic. We have had a good summer transfer wise but lets not forget the world we are entering. I'd be delighted to stay up on goal difference this season genuinely

I am feeling reasonably optimistic at the moment, but I'm going to struggle to come up with 26 or 27 reasons for it.
