We've already replaced MvE tbf. I don't see KKH as much of a downgrade, if at all.
I'm choosing to take the opinion we're after a better standard of player so it's harder to get done.
I guess we'll find out soon, I would like to see at least 1 this week tbf.

Yeah MvE we have, but then we’re back to one RB of slightly worse quality than we had. Not urgent though. It’s Wright I really worry about. Lots of noise, may well not get a bid until late, and our only goal scoring threat outside Rudoni. Not the sort of position you want to be scrabbling around last minute for. Hopefully someone drops £10m on MvE this week and it’s all moot.

One major difference between this season and the last few seasons is that a few of youngsters are starting to break through, hopefully. Who was the last young centre back we had coming through? Some of Perry's tackles were way above his years.

We also have a lot of players whose contracts all expire at the end of next season. Some rotation will be needed or we're into a lot of expensive contract extensions before too long to protect investment.

Positive is if you look at the table from when Lampard took over we were 10 points ahead of 7th last season - so the floor is pretty good

Negative is that if MvE goes (surely will) our current 11 is actually weaker than in March last season

I think this squad finishes between 5th-9th - but sign a quality CB/RW and it will be 4th-7th

Just finding a solution to our goalkeeping problem has made us significantly better than last season.

From what i have seen Kesler Hayden is far from weaker than Milan in fact id consider him potentially better.

The point about quantity is that it’s very difficult to argue Lampard just wants less turnover than every CCFC manager ever in his first summer. Which implies the problem is the funds. Very early still, I just worry we’re relying on a huge bid for MvE or Wright going and the former doesn’t seem to be appearing and the latter can’t happen until the season starts. And to be honest I’m still getting over us losing Gus late and not replacing.
How many players did we have and how many were we allowed?

When did the idea that our forwards were no good embed itself? My analysis is we’ve got two proven 20 goal a season strikers, a left winger who was superb second half of last season and a right winger that would get in every team in the league. That is backed up by another proven championship striker and a good young prospect. It’s the other end we need more depth.

When Rudoni carried the lot of them on his back for most of last season?

One striker who has struggled with fitness since last year. The other doesn't suit the way we play. Then we have BTA. Yippee.

3 x LB. 2 x RB. Then we have our CB's. Yes another would be nice. But scoring goals is as important as defending them.
