We're standing still at best while others improve.

As it stands I wouldn't bet on top 6.

Who has actually improved from teams that were in and around us last season other than Norwich and perhaps West Brom who have spent on a few.

Of those that have come up Birmingham has spent heavily but question marks over whether it will actually come off. Wrexham will be midtable.

Blackburn have bought in really weird players and are poised to lose a couple, Middlesbrough have been weakened, Bristol have been weakened with the loss of their manager, Sheffield United haven't bought anyone in apart from a couple of loans and lost Souza, Millwall have done OK business nothing I'd say that is eye-catching.

I will be surprised if we get promoted with our current front 3 or Simms, Wright and BTA. all are way too hot or cold and we can't afford to have so many 'off days' from all 3.
We’ve made a top 5 squad stronger, our goals come from all over, admit another forward might help but we’ll still be ok, it was at the back we needed to improve and looks like we have

I think we always have to take into account how much we have progressed over the years. MR put a lot of groundwork into the building of the U21s team and at that time we were Div 2 and 1 and to be fair those lads were very suitable for that level. It's only now, we are top 10 championship club we see our youngsters are not up to the required level, basically we have outgrown them and that's why when they leave us they join Northampton.
There was the change from u23 to u21 to take into account. Perhaps the idea was to create more mobility for players re loans I don't know.

Target for me would be 2 wingers. Follow the success of Ipswich and Leeds the last 2 years who swapped attacking options on 60 mins. Both George and Zaroury would be great

Top scorers from last season, apart from the top 1 midfielders and wingers, season doesn’t rest on us having a 20 goal a season forward, but it would help

He’s been brought in to get us out of this league, he won’t be content with a few positions and he’ll be aware of it and sorting it
Yes he has, but his first job is to get off to a good start. That's how King will judge him and he stated he was brought in last season because Robins start was poor again.

We've brought in a very good defender and sold a reserve defender. We've brought in a very good GK that we were desperate for last season. He looks even better than Dovin. The saves he made were top class. I can't see him letting in 2 goals from 2 average shots like we were getting last season.

So towards the end of the season when we were struggling to win were the players not playing for Lampard then
Not really - generally the side was fine. They had the games where they struggled against teams they couldn’t break down - and were massively unlucky against Sunderland.

under Robins - they looked a team devoid of ideas, and that derby game was an absolute disaster, I would argue however that he was unlucky to be sacked when he was given he’d won 2/3 but they looked like a side that had checked out

Dasilva has a really good end to the season. Also, I’m more concerned about the quality of players we bring in, not “how many”. There’s ages left anyway, I’m sure there’s plenty of stuff in hand we don’t know about because all our ITKs have been put on garden leave.

Squad was small last season and we suffered for it. One in one out would only cut it if we’re upgrading the likes of Allen and Bidwell and BTA.

I think they should be judged on quality rather than quantity. Considering the summer you're on about, the marquee incoming was Kasey Palmer, I think we're OK.
Still time mate, reckon we see another 3 at least.

The point about quantity is that it’s very difficult to argue Lampard just wants less turnover than every CCFC manager ever in his first summer. Which implies the problem is the funds. Very early still, I just worry we’re relying on a huge bid for MvE or Wright going and the former doesn’t seem to be appearing and the latter can’t happen until the season starts. And to be honest I’m still getting over us losing Gus late and not replacing.

You've got to think that the wage bill won't be allowed to increase too much on last season. That might imply that a higher earner or two may still leave...

I think this is probably the main issue. I’m not sure we can afford a wage bill that makes us a serious promotion contender. Especially with Brum and Wrexham throwing cash about on top of the parachute clubs. I bet it’s a good summer to be an average Championship player.

We've already replaced MvE tbf. I don't see KKH as much of a downgrade, if at all.
I'm choosing to take the opinion we're after a better standard of player so it's harder to get done.
I guess we'll find out soon, I would like to see at least 1 this week tbf.
