and yet we spent £35m on Tuhaouna and Gboho for them to sit on the bench and watch BTAMassive handicap
We’ve not spent £30m on Awoniyi and Cherif for them to sit on the bench and watch Simms.
Absolutely nothing to do with his contract.
Regardless of that. There is no doubt Simms should be coming on ahead of Awoniyi. We need to be playing our players in the best form. The club had agreed to sell Simms in the summer but personal terms were turned down by Simms. With promotions came bonuses which would of meant a drop in wages and a move back to the championship if he would of gone.
It was made clear from the club and in truth if Wright would of been fit i doubt Simms would of made 1 squad this season. So to say badly treated is too simplistic, the club will have a reason and the right to be a bit pissed off. I like Simms, but in truth he was not part of prem plans and if Weight was fot would probably of not been in squads this season. We are not losing games because he is not in squads and we can only pick 19 players who would of dropped out yesterday for him.
Finding players to drop out from yesterday’s 19 man squad to make room for Ellis Simms isn’t the most difficult mental challenge I’ve ever facedThe club had agreed to sell Simms in the summer but personal terms were turned down by Simms. Isn't that cutting off your nose to spite your face?Hes been told sign up or your not playing. This is a massive handicap ap to the team.
Arguably one of our better players vs Arsenal /Manchester City also.
I think he seems similarly effective because he frustratingly plays within himself and is capable of more. He's almost apologetic about his abilities. I think lower PL is his limit though.I haven’t ever particularly rated Simms - I was always firmly in the Haji is better camp. But he’s been good this year, from the first day at Arsenal to his substitute cameos. Nearly scored at Man City, got the goal against Newcastle.
In fact, he’s weirdly seemed just as effective at PL level as he was in the Championship.
Sometimes you watch from the stands, and disagree with the choices, but can sort of get what the manager is thinking. This season I just can’t fathom why he’s not being given a chance. Whether he should start is a debate maybe, but not being used or even available as a sub when we are chasing a game is really puzzling.
So the club have the right to be pissed off because a player refused a move that would have resulted in him being paid less? The club had agreed to sell Simms in the summer but personal terms were turned down by Simms. We dont know the contract terms or the facts. So the club have the right to be pissed off because a player refused a move that would have resulted in him being paid less?
Wouldn't Simms have the right to be pissed off at trying to be forced to accept a move that would see him earn less?

I was working off the assumptions and assertions in the post I was replying to.We dont know the contract terms or the facts.

Lampard’s clearly said that’s an attitude issueand yet we spent £35m on Tuhaouna and Gboho for them to sit on the bench and watch BTA
Awoniyi has a good record in the prem?Regardless of that. There is no doubt Simms should be coming on ahead of Awoniyi. We need to be playing our players in the best form.
In my opinion Awoniyi was a terrible signingSimms ahead of the donkey that is Awoniyi all day long. Since being back he looks lazy, slow and his touch is awful. Even Oggy commented on him looking like he hadn’t trained.
One good season in the Prem and it wasn’t huge numbers. Forest fans all say he struggled for fitness, a couple of blues fans I know thought he was going there in the summer which might be his level. Not writing Awonyi off as he has a decent history to refer to.
But I think it’s an entirely reasonable comment to state his last two sub appearances have been to the detriment to the team.
Simms is frustrating, but I’d have him over Awonyi on current form - and it isn’t even close.
Unfair on Awonyi too btw - bringing him on to save a game when he’s clearly miles off it fitness wise.
Agreed, and TchaoumaIn my opinion Awoniyi was a terrible signing
He looks like he cant run.One good season in the Prem and it wasn’t huge numbers. Forest fans all say he struggled for fitness, a couple of blues fans I know thought he was going there in the summer which might be his level.
6 prem league games for Cov, no points, no goals..runs like Alf Garnett.Awoniyi has a good record in the prem?
On one hand people are complaining about our championship players being given too much faith, on the other they want us to bin off £30m of new strikers after a handful of appearances to play Ellis fucking Simms!!
It's not amnesia. It's looking at the situation in front of you.Funny this amnesia us fans get. Wasn’t that long ago everyone was slagging him of saying he had the first touch of a trampoline and couldn't hit a barn door in the championship and now all of a sudden as we are struggling he's prime Pele and needs to start in the premiership.

Best goal record last year, minutes played. We needed a premiership striker. We signed a totally unproven 19 yr old winger, occasional striker, who has played hardly any games and Forests 4th choice striker!Funny this amnesia us fans get.
