Predicted Coventry City summer transfers from AI

Coventry City transfer gossip from CoventryLive as we take a look at what AI is predicting for the Sky Blues this summer, taken with a huge pinch of salt!

[Nick]

Slow news day?

ie. Just make some complete shit up and pretend it's AI.

[StrettoBoy]

It's a prediction made by a computer using AI.

About as useful as the prediction made by the budgie we don't have that the Sky Blues are going to sign Jude Bellingham for £600 million.

[SwanLane]

Just goes to show how far AI output is from being usable in many cases.

Sounds like some on here

Someone (possibly on here) mentioned a cheat around it. If you open it on your phone, top right there should be like AA (on an iPhone) if you lick that and then select 'Show Reader' it gets rid of all the shit and actually makes it readable.

never licked my phone before, but ill give it a go if i get a readable outcome

There is the alternative if downloading the Coventry Live app

Careful might get a sensation like a nine volt battery!!

Mirror group in general are awful for that. Almost like they're deliberately pushing people back to actual newspapers

‘twas me. You can also set it in the website settings to always show reader for that site. It’s actually made the CET site usable.

Wish people would stop claiming ChatGPT is AI, there’s no intelligence whatsoever involved in it. It is just trained to produce convincing text. It’s not calculating or inferring anything behind the scenes. It’s essentially just a bullshitting machine.

You used to say the same about strange emails though? No

Tbf it can create computer script in seconds that would take me hours. Its always learning too.

AI doesn't exist. it's just a new word for an algorithm. which is just a new word for code. which is just a new word for software.

I wouldn’t disagree that it is full of shit but ChatGPT is supported by a Large Language Model (LLM) - a recognised part of the AI landscape.

[shmmeee]

No it’s not. It’s compressing its training data and producing the next token based on that. It can’t do anything that’s outside its training data.

LLMs (and VLLMs like GPT-4) are ML. AI doesn’t exist.

Ok I can see this is an article of faith for you. Not fussed enough to dive into a semantic rabbit hole.
I’m not entirely convinced by what most of the world calls AI either.

[wingy]

Just wait till 8g gets into gear!!

It’s not an article of faith, ML is called ML because what it’s doing (learning weights) isn’t intelligence. Calling it AI leads to nonsense like the current laws outlawing frontier models and articles like the above.

We are no closer to AI than we have been for decades and pretending that autoregressive architectures can get to AGI is sucking funding from promising avenues.

well obviously, but it can collate, interpret and explain data thousands of times faster than a human can. So I'd say its useful

It can do none of those things. It can produce convincing text based on the average of its training. It’s definitely useful, but it’s not intelligence and it doesn’t understand anything. It’s a very confident bullshitter.

[eyesee]

irrespective of what it can and can't do, if it's based on code a human has generated then it's not intelligent.

You are based on code a human has generated.

If you go back far enough would it be called an Abacus?

Yes it can I use it for my Job

The clues in the name "Artificial" Intelligence. Also it can "Artificially" Learn. I really dont think some people grasp how important it will be/is becoming

[Domo]

you're all a bunch of nerds.

[Nick]

They could have at least asked them to give predictions in the style of snoop dogg.
