Transfer Rumour Summer Transfer Window 2026 (32 Viewers)

No one is saying this. A window a little closer to the standard of Ipswich’s is what was needed. They replaced around 7 of their starting 11. As did Sunderland, as did Leeds. Whereas we are still playing 8/11 from our side last season, as are Hull who are now dropping like a stone.

Sunderland who are currently below us in the league

I think I’d take being bottom after 7 games next year if we finish 7th and play in Europe this year

Fair enough, but not really relevant to the point he was making

Is this the extension of people taking bottom of the top flight after seven games if we finish top of the Championship and win the title?

Also in the Europa League and going away to AC Milan soon, but we’ll let that slide shall we

The point is they realised most of their 11 wouldn’t cut it. Picked the ones who might do in Ballard, Hume, Le Fee and upgraded the rest. We’re still playing most of our championship side and it shows

But they've did what youre suggesting and are below us, surely that's not a good example?

They got promoted and finished 7th after replacing most of their starting 11. That’s a pretty good example

They had a far bigger budget. We were never going to match their spend. They take in more matchday revenue and the had the Bellingham money.

We've spent a decent amount, how wisely will be the question but its early days yet.

We could have easily sold 20 million quids worth of players, rather than keeping them for vibes.....

We should of, but would another 20 million player make that much difference?

I think, at the moment, the question marks are over what we spent the money on rather than how much we spent. Hopefully that will change and the new signings will start having an impact

which seemingly won't happen until members of the vibe squad get dropped or injured. It's a strange situation.

Tbf all you did was call me a negative c**t so you weren’t really wrong. I retract you from the list of clapping seals.

I wouldn't call you a c**t, I don't know you, but you are pretty relentlessly negative and seem to revel in it.

Recruitment has been poor

Why aren’t you bringing on gboho when you’re 0-1 down at home

Another £20 million player (central midfielder) should make a difference, but based on what we've seen this season they would just be on the bench behind Grimes anyway.

He's just getting a lot wrong. Even Onyeka, without being outstanding, every time he comes on looks way more comfortable at this level than Grimes does.
Gboho was a highly rated player in France, it was seen as something of coup when we were able to bring him in, yet Frank won't give him a kick.
Frankly I'm struggling to see how KKH would be worse than MvE too. MvE looks absolutely terrified.

I feel a bit bad slagging Grimes btw, I think he was one of the most important players for us in gaining promotion. Its Lampard not realising he really should be a bench option at best that's sending me.

Agreed on the last part, he’s someone you want coming on last 20 to sure it up and set up shop and be hard to beat to control the tempo and slow it down after you’ve taken the lead or seeing out a draw

Wasn’t he on his way the the MLS? The fee wasn’t really that high.

Maybe rather than another it's one in and one out,=@£50M player?
