Fulham Ratings

There was a moment Hamer was chasing back about five minutes after coming off and he got gassed by Bassey who had been everywhere for 80 minutes...it was like he was running in cement
Awoniyi looked poor
BTA ran around a lot but not any quality
Rushworth pulled his hands away for their chance that hit the crossbar but no chance for the goal
Pinnock played really well I thought

Rushworth - 6
MVE - 5.5
Thomas - 7
Pinnock -7.5
JDS - 6
Grimes - 3
Yirenkyi - 5
Tats - 6
Rudoni - 6.5
BTA - 5
Cherif - 6

Mfuni - 6.5
Onyeka - 5
EMC - 5
Awoniyi - 4
Hamer - 4

36% possession at home against a poor Fulham side is just not acceptable.
There are questions now about Lampard's selections.
I can accept a second loss in a week, but not the total lack of creativity.

Rudoni tried hard,
Thomas was excellent before he went off
Pinnock was solid again

Every one else 5/10

You're a lot more positive than me but that's probably because I'm soaking and grumpy about finishing work at 1am last night instead of 10

Ha! I think I’m a lot more negative/realistic(?) than most going into the game!

Worth noting that Fulham were favourites to win the game.

I think most on here would have thought a City win more likely than a Fulham one.

Defence ok, Bobby and Pinnock good. In front nothing bar Tats and Rudi. Cherif works hard but no threat. BTA offers nothing and Awonyi a waste of money. Need Haji asap. Feel for Simms being out again too.

Rudoni and Sakamoto getting higher ratings than BTA surprises. BTA the only one of them who got into shooting positions and looked threatening, barring Rudi's dribble near the end.
I thought Saka and BTA really struggled to retain possession, particularly first half. BTA draws free-kicks well, but otherwise rarely keeps possession.

Although the same could be said for the rest who played front in the front 4 inc subs.

Rushworth 6
Mve 6 - was better today and put in the best cross of the game
Thomas 7
Pinnock 7
Jds 6
Grimes 5 - not brave enough, needs to have more belief in his own passing ability
Yirenki 5 - doesn't look like he believes in himself, very safety first with the ball and he's literally being coached through the game by the coaching team
Sakamoto 6 - one of the better players, worked hard and made a few openings
Rudi 6 - as above but set piece delivery not good enough
BTA 6 - quite effective as a player to win the ball back or get us moving on the transition, actually has a shot at goal. Lacks quality though.
Cherif 5 - just not really in it, too raw to be leading the line at this level

Subs
Onyeka 7 - more aggressive and lifted the intensity a bit
EMC 6 - one decent moment but more delaying a cross, needs to play to his instincts a lot more
Hamer 4 - jogged around and went through the (slow) motions
Awoniyi 5 - more of a presence in the box but not much else to say

All 5 except CBs and Tats and Rudi 6/7s.

Grimes 4 for lack of leadership and motivation or game strategy.

Needs dropping.
The lack of leadership from Grimes was dreadful with regards to the long throws. Trying long throw after long throw in to the wind pure stupidity. This is where the Captain should step in and say stop. It's as if none of the players take responsibility for doing something different.

6,s and 7,s. I thought Pinnock and Rudoni were excellent. I do agree Grimes needs looking at but not sure we have an upgrade.

You do realise we lost the game and created nothing.

Rudi should lose a mark for the goal. Close him down, tackle him, don't just let him come on to his good foot & shoot.

How does Awoniyi get 5? I wouldn't give him more than 1. How many times did he touch the ball in 30 minutes? He offers absolutely nothing. Even Oggy said he looks like he hasn't trained for 3 weeks.

Yes it was a pretty even game won with the one bit of quality in the game.

Largely agree probably 7 for Tats, but wtf did Awonyi do to deserve a 3? (And no i don't think it should be higher)

Was always going to be a horrible game with the weather but we were really poor.

Rudoni and Sakamoto were the only two who looked like they could create something.
The two CBs also fairly decent.

Grimes and Yarenki between them have turned into sideways Sammy Clingan.🤔

Jds has got off a bit lightly. Just standing there watching Rudoni get absolutely skinned for their goal.
I thought JDS was very poor today. Got done positionally many times, and, sorry, he takes the easy option far too many times ie: passing it backwards to Grimes. He is a Senior Pro but often does not play like it.

Just watched the highlights and wondering why we stand off now and let them shoot from a couple of yards back? I remember at school we were always told to double up and cover behind the defender challenging so a shot wouldnt come in. As soon as Rudi was effectly done there was no one close enough to challenge. Its actually school boy errors and we're guilty of it week after week.

Rushworth - 6 Didn't really have much to do

Da Silva - 6 Done for pace a few times in the first half, generally pretty solid

Thomas - 7 Solid, missed his threat from set pieces when he went off

Pinnock - 7 As per Thomas, solid, did everything required. Reassuring for Mfuni to be alongside such an experienced player

Van Ewijk - 6. A better performance, his shooting is still woeful though and his positioning still makes me feel uneasy

Grimes 4 I am struggling to see what he offers the team. Very negative in possession

Yirenkyi 6 Did ok, needs to offer more for us going forwards

BTA 5 Works hard, picks up free kicks, but not at the level in the final third

Sakamoto 7.5. MoM for me, was beating his man a fair few times in the first half and getting the ball across. Helps defensively as he should. Need more of this

Rudoni 5.5. First thoughts were he has to do better for their goal. Some lovely skill in the first half, but miles away from the goal

Cherif 6. Strong, but not overly effective, but given sweet FA service

Subs
EMC. 5. Didn't impress today following a strong showing at spurs
Onyeka. 5. Just not good enough on the ball at this level
Mfuni. 6. Did everything asked of him
Hamer. 5. Would like to see him in the Grimes role, but looked like a fat wheezy boy chasing back shortly after coming on
Awoniyi. 3. Looks shockingly off the pace and immobile since coming back

He did get a couple off but they were weak attempts unfortunately (BTA)

I think your ratings & comments are pretty much spot on. I am with you on Rudi, and thought once again today he was trying to do too much on his own.
I think we need to take the hand brake off Yirenki. Looks as if he was stifled today, told to sit which is not his game, and not pick up a booking.
I struggled to work out our tactics when they had goal kicks as Asante just dropped back to the half way line giving them a get out every time at right back.

Rushworth 6 held on to a number of slippery shots in the rain

Fulham controlled that. We're just not good enough to compete unless confidence is soaring, I fear.

MVE 6 doesn't reassure me
Thomas 7 fine
Pinnock 7 fine
JDS 6 penned in too much

Grimes 5 doing the Michael Doyle quarterback stuff after we got promoted in the 2018-19 season
Yirenkyi 5 not accurate enough nor influential like he looks capable of

Tats 7.5 Ran himself into the ground and did some ace skills a couple of times
Rudoni 7 some lovely stuff and a tireless effort. Don't know how much to blame him for the goal really
BTA 6.5 works non-stop and must be a handful to mark but that heads-up vision and skill are lacking

Chérif 5.5 looks fit and willing but scarcely a threat today

subs - EMC did bits but looks slower than I remember; Onyeka charges about; Awoniyi seems shot; Hamer seems unfit and out of confidence
